  • Back to work jitters!

    Good Monday Morning!

Back to work, and it feels like my first day on the job!  I was so nervous doing my first weather hit with Megyn and Bill!  But, as always they make me feel right at home.  I have to say, even after 4 years being here at Fox,  I still get the jitters before going on air.  Not sure why, but someone once told me the day I don’t get nervous is the day I need to hang up the microphone – so that must mean I’m still good to go.

A quick recap of the weather across the country for you:

The Northeast can begin to dig out of this weekend’s powerful Nor’easter that brought up to a foot or more to mainly upstate New York and New England.  The winds will be the issue now as the system moves up into Canada.    The lakes will still get some good snow totals today especially off of Erie and Ontario.  Winds will start to die down later on this afternoon, but we could see gusts of up to 50 mph along the coast from Maryland to Maine.   The windchill will make it feel worse for folks who aren’t dressed properly, so if you have kids enjoying a snow day, make sure they look like the Michelin man:

Meanwhile, more storms are in line to hit the west this week, which means more heavy rain, strong winds and mountain snow.  Winter weather advisories are posted from Washington to Oregon into Northern California.

Here are some of the snow pictures from this weekend’s storm in my homeland (Ottawa, Ontario Canada) courtesy of the local newspaper The Ottawa Citizen.  My mom tells me it was a record breaker for the day – the most snow on a single day in December since 1938!  37 cm’s fell which is over 14 inches.
