Janice Dean the Weather Machine

New Years Resolutions anyone?

Good Morning!

Happy New Years Eve!  Hard to believe another year has gone by.  Lots to quickly cover weather-wise, and then we’ll get to fun stuff!

That tropical disturbance in the Atlantic doesn’t look to promising now…I got all excited over a possible Pablo popping up before the year end, but it just didn’t happen.

Also in the “predicted but didn’t happen” file – Boston will NOT have the snowiest December on record.  The snow totals were way off due to the rain/freezing rain factor cutting down on the snow amounts.   Ahh,  to be a forecaster in New England.    Not fun!

And mother nature gave the southeast a good drink this weekend meaning that Atlanta will NOT have the driest season on record.   Almost though —  1954 still holds that record with 31.80 inches of rain for the year.  2007 came in 2nd with 31.85 inches.   So close!

We have a couple of storms that might affect New Years plans.  One departing system over New England which brought close to a foot for some regions.   And the other getting its act together over the Midwest, Great Lakes and then the Northeast tomorrow!  New England is getting pounded.  Bill Hemmer sent me some great pics from a view in New Hampshire which I will post in a sec…

The red flag warnings are also up for Southern California.  High pressure is in place over the Great Basin which means Santa Ana winds will be howling this afternoon tonight and tomorrow which means high fire danger as well as some pretty gusty conditions for the Tournament of Roses Parade tomorrow in Pasadena.    Hold onto your bonnets!

Ok - now the question I’m sure you’ve all been asked already!  Any New Years Resolutions?  I have a few…nothing earth shattering:

1) Go the gym (I know…boring)

2) Don’t sweat the small stuff (I tend to stay up late at night worrying about ridiculous things)

3) More dancing :)  You know I love to dance!

More later…but post your resolutions here!

Happy New Years Eve!

Resolutions …this year I thought I might just forget about those :D Yes I’ll admit it …I never follow through! But what would New Years be without a resolution or two? Just like you, I am going to go to the gym. There’s a new one opening less than 5 minutes from my house so now there’s really no excuse. LOL Organization, I want to be more organized and yes I try this one every year :)

Happy New Year everyone!

To wake up every morning with an attitude of gratitude…even if it only is a quick thought….

Im tired of all the moaning, groaning, whining, complaining going on without sticking my head in the sand…and I dont want to add to that negative energy…

Makes me feel icky…

Wenchie,
Excellent resolutions. I totally agree with you. A wise man once said to me “Negative people make positive people sick.” So true. I live by that.

Ok let’s talk about resolutions:

1- Forget about the gym: you look great the way you are and for some reason I am very allergic to gym places.

2- I’m the same than you: I tend to always sweat the small things… but in addition my brain has way too much imagination: so imagine the scenario!
Nights are the best time to sort your mind out….

3- More dancing: DEFINITELY! but I don’t know where. Gimme some clues about places that are not exclusively hip-hop!

Conclusion: Janice just stay the way you are, which is super positive for the rest of us!!!

We need your good vibes for 2008!!!

And last but not least, BONNE ANNEE Janice and all my meilleurs voeux.
You deserve the Best.

Guillaume

Hey, Janice:

Hey, David-Congratulations to you and Mrs David on your first child! A future WX, PJ, or Air Commando, perhaps?

July is a fine month to be born in…a month of independence (July 4th for example), not to mention that it is summertime.

GOOD FOR YOU! BEST OF LUCK TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!!! :)

This year I am going to do more exercise, it is something I need to do but I have been struggling with finding something I really love. So that is my quest this year.
