Gwen’s Gorgeous Grandkids!

Everyone who has visited this blog enough times knows our good friend Gwen was just blessed with 2 brand new grand-babies!  I thought it was only appropriate to post a picture of her latest additions!  :)  Here’s what Gwen wrote:

Janice-

I used to laugh at old fogies with the “Let me tell you about my grandchildren” bumper stickers.  Now, I understand them perfectly.

These are the children of our 2nd oldest son, Nickolas.   Nickolas, Sr. is in the MS Air National Guard and is the one who sent me the picture of one of our planes refueling the Thunderbirds’ planes a couple of months ago.   Pictured are Nickolas, Jr. (4 years old) holding Allison (on the left) and Hunter (on the right).  Mom and babies are all doing well.

Aren’t they adorable?  I think this definitely falls in the category of a “cute break!!”

Thank you Gwen!  Congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law (and big brother Nickolas Jr!)

They’re very adorable.
I love children just as long as they’re not mine.

JD,

It appears that the 2,300-acre wildfire at Minnewaska State Park near Kerhonkson, NY has been contained. Thankfully the Relative Humidity climbed up on Sunday, which will always slow down a fire allowing crews to get a line around it. Here’s a link to that story;

We are by no means out of danger up and down the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers valleys or in the Catskill and Taconic Mountains. As you know that High-pressure system will now be bringing in dry Canadian air versus moist air off the Atlantic. As the weather will be absolutely beautiful all week this will also mean the plants, tress, grass, etc, etc cannot pop open and get green instead of being remaining dry, dry, dry.

Currently here in Scotia the dew point is only 8 degrees F and the ambient air temp is 72 degrees F. With absolutely no rain in sight things will get very, very dicey in a hurry.

Hey Bill! Thank you for the update. It’s going to be a long season for wildfires I’m afraid for a lot of areas! It just takes one goof-ball with a lit cigarette to change things forever.

What cute babies! They are fortunate to have an older brother to look after them. Thanks for sharing them with us. My favorite photo subjects are my 5 year old niece and 21 month old nephew. I love photographing kids. You never know what they’re going to do. I don’t have any grandkids to show off, (since I don’t have any kids), but I love showing off my niece and nephew. I guess you can say I’m a proud aunt.

Margie
