Heavy rain over the Del-Mar-Va!
Before and After pictures sent in by Don Graf of Richmond, Virginia
Virginia received over 2 inches of rain yesterday shattering a daily rainfall record. Here’s what Don wrote:
“The island in the middle of the pond in my backyard disappeared yesterday from the rain…the airport is reporting 3.54 inches yesterday.”
There were 6 reports of tornadoes as well in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. We’ve still got the potential for heavy rain in and around the same areas that got soaked over the weekend.
And another slight risk for severe weather today over the central Plains from Oklahoma, Kansas, western Missouri as a cold front moves east.
More U-report photos are coming up!! Happy Monday!

Hey Janice,
Cumberland got plenty of rain, too. We got 2.25 inches yesterday and over an inch this morning, most of which fell after I got up. You know what’s really depressing? It’s hard enough to get up on a Monday morning, but this morning was really difficult. I get up early so I can do my morning devotions and when I started we had about 1/4 inch of rain. As I sat in my dining room I could hear the rain coming down and when I got done a half hour later, we were up to 3/4 inches of rain. When I left for work it was about an inch. It’s getting brighter now and I think the sun is even struggling to come out, but in another part of the sky the clouds are dark gray. I have a sinus headache so that’s another thing to make this a difficult morning to get going! I really would like to go back to bed but I don’t think my employer would like that very much. I didn’t take any pictures yesterday because it was cold and ugly and I just stayed inside once I got back from church. I spent my day watching the Pope and working on my computer. It was a nice quiet day.
I hope everyone has a great week.
Margie
Ugh. I know what those sinus headaches feel like Margie! The weather doesn’t help either!
Hey Jd….TWM
Had a little rain in Canton Ohio yesterday evening. That’s alright, at least we are finally starting to warm up. I am quite a sissy about cold weather, and to think I was an 0311 for the USMC during the first Gulf. Don’t tell any of my Marine Corps buddies that I am whining about the weather, I’ll get my backside kicked.
Send us some more of that sunshine JD!!!!!
WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Did you get some sunshine yet Steve-O? I just put in the request!
Our 7 day outlook is day temps in the 70’s and night temps in the 60’s….
This is great weather of us as farmers…the fields are being plowed and beds of plastic being laid down…
We even have direct seeded some corn…that is unusally for this time of year but because there is a long stretch of warm weather turns out it can be done…..(usually we are just transplanting squash)
For this time of our selling season we are having a decent customer turn out….
That is great news Dawn! I love hearing when the weather works out!
