Bill, I love living in Western Maryland with the mountains (except in the winter after we get snow or ice). I wanted to go out yesterday to take some pictures but the sky was too cloudy and the mountains looked hazy. With the warmer weather and all the rain, the mountains look so lush and green. I also wanted to take some pictures of the flowers in my garden, but it's been windy lately and that's not a good thing when you want to take close-ups. One of these days the weather will cooperate and I'll take a trip with my camera in hand.

Thanks Margie.

Although you live in a beautiful part of the coutry, western Maryland is a wonderful place. I use to visit a friends in Frederick, MD and we often took a trip through those mountains on our way to Winchester, VA.

Thanks Dawn.

I love flowering trees too, it is a shame they can't stay in bloom all summer. It's funny here in the Mohawk Valley, I mean the minor change in climates between the valley, Adirondacks, Catskills and Taconics.

All around Scotia most of the flowering trees are loosing their pedals and the fruit is coming in, but in the Adirondacks the season is at least 2 weeks and maybe 3 weeks behind which is where I took this picture. The tree is only half in bloom, but 40 miles to the southeast the flowers are falling from those apple trees. Parts of the Catskills are the same and the Taconics are about a week behind.

I'll bet you can see subtle changes between the farm versus being over along the Connecticut River.

I love the picture! I think close-up shots can be more dramatic than photographing the whole tree. Like Dawn said, too bad the blossoms don't stay around longer. Heavy rain doesn't do much for them either. I hope you'll share some more of your pictures, Bill. (They're a lot more realistic than my dopey UFO picture!)
