Thanks for the nice comments, Deb and Janice. And Guillaume, I know what you mean about being in an airplane and looking at the clouds. When I flew back from Minneapolis in September, as I flew into BWI airport (Baltimore) there was some rain in the area. I took a really cool picture of the sun shining in one part of the sky along with some lighter clouds and darker clouds. It was similar to the pictures here, except it was from above. My digital camera was broken at the time so I used my 35mm camera, but if I can scan it and get it looking nice, I'll post it for everyone. It's nice to be above the bad weather every once in a while. The sky is beautiful up there!

ahhh the fascination of clouds...

Don't you love when you're in a plane, after taking off by a rainy gray weather (like today in New York), the aircraft is going through the clouds and is finally reaching that altitude above them where the sky is perfectly blue and beautiful, and the sun shines??!
Love that feeling.
(and consequently hate landing :D )

Hey JD.....I have lived through two tornadoes. One when I was quite young, Mom and I were hiding under the blankets; like it couldn't get us there;yeah right!! Good thing my Dad was around, he made us go to the basement. It must have been about 1976 or so in Kent, Ohio.

Another...I was with my Dad, just came down from the Golden Arch in St. Louis. Everyone pulled over, my dad too, except he put the car in nuetral...what a meathead...blew us a few hundred yards further than we wanted....quite a joy ride

Anyway..do you know of any search engines or database files that I could look back on and research these twisters? My daughter is very interested in learning about it.
