NOAA Hurricane Forecast

The fine folks at NOAA have given us their predictions for the upcoming 2008 Atlantic Hurricane Season which begins June 1st (although we could see something at any point develop out there) and ends November 30th. Here’s a peak at the numbers and last year’s tally:

Like I have always said, all those forecasts are nothing but guesses. Where I come from, the definition of a bad hurricane season is when a hurricane hits your location. We could have 30 hurricanes and not a one hit any land and it really wasn’t a bad season.

It’s interesting that they kind of covered their you-know-whats when it came to “accuracy percentage” on their forecasts which I think is a good thing!
