Another early morning!
Another tough one getting out of bed! It was nice though heading out at 4am and not having to wear a jacket! So I was smart not to bring a jacket, but I also forgot an important part of my wardrobe as well today…MY WEDDING RING! I’ve done this a couple of times since I got married, and there’s always that first rush of nervousness when you realize you forgot your ring! However, I blame it on the fact that I was in kind of a fog this morning to begin with. My hand feels naked!
Meanwhile, as I mentioned - its absolutely gorgeous here in the Northeast - however changes are on the way as this deadly storm system across the nation’s midsection moves our way. It has been an absolutely horrible weekend of severe weather. Over 500 reports yesterday including 43 tornadoes from Texas up into Minnesota. Today the system moves to the east…but folks across the plains still need to be paying attention to their local weather forecasts. The Ohio Valley and eastern Great Lakes will start to see the skies open up throughout the day. I know a lot of folks will be travelling today, so take it easy on the roads, and make sure to check the airlines as there will be many airport delays.

Here’s a peak at all the storm reports from yesterday alone!
I’ll check in throughout the morning to see what you guys are up to…and I’ll post an Open Blog as well so you can chat amongst yourselves!
Happy Memorial Day

Hi Janice, glad you mentioned your ring. My husband and I noticed your bare hand first thing this morning. Have a great day. We love Fox and you. From Texas
Hey Pat! Yes, all is well on the homefront…just forgot the hardware is all!
Its 58 here at 740am…..and never mind coffee.. I need a nap…HA!
Mmmmm napping!
Good morning JD.
I don’t know how Sean feels, but being married and in love with your spouse come from the heart not a physical symbol. In my work I’ve seen two men loose their ring fingers because their wedding band caught up in debris, material and machinery….I think you know the rest of the story.
It was for this reason that I used to leave my wedding band home when heading off to work. This was a major bone of contention with my Ex because she gauged the health of our marriage into a physical symbol rather than where it should be……in the heart.
This was a simple accident your typical morning routine was thrown out of wack. We all know you love Sean beyond words, and I’m sure he knows it too, that’s all that matters!
You are right Bill, and my hubby takes his off at work just for that very reason. I agree it’s just a piece of metal.
Morning Janice. Here in Richmond we have a bad air health warning. Janice, does Canada have many tornados? I just saw your report on the E5. Horrible. Feel so sorry for those folks.
Hey Don…Canada does have tornadoes especially across the Prairies. I feel horrible too for those people. The video is just heartbreaking.
And I thought there was a chance (no ring),
Morning Goddess
Haha Luis. you always make me smile!
Good Morning Janice…
Although a ring is a beautiful symbol of love…what really matters in what’s in your heart…
Have a wonderful day!!!
Deb
You are absolutely right Deb! Well put
I guess from the posts that you forgot your wdding ring today. I don’t have a wedding ring at this point in time but I forgot my pocket knife the other day and I know hoew you feel. Would rather forget my pants than my knife. Have a good day even though you have to work.
Our weather has changed in the last couple of days. No longer hot, dry and windy, it is now hot, humid and windy. Still hoping for rain.

Here’s video from KCCI TV in Des Moines. The reporter is their chief meteorologist and a pilot who got aerial footage of Parkersburg and New Hartford, IA.
BTW, New Hartford is the home town of Senator Chuck Grassley. I haven’t heard if his farm had any damage.

I’m not married, so I don’t have a wedding ring.
I couldn’t afford a class ring when I graduated from college. Thirteen years later, when I was 35, I earned my M.B.A. with a specialization in finance at the University of Chicago. I did half of my course work attending their evening program in downtown Chicago, working in the day at a major bank. After doing that for three years, I left the bank and went to school full-time for the next four quarters, finally earning my M.B.A.
About six weeks before graduation, I was browsing through the campus bookstore. Somehow I walked into the small section where they sold cameras and photo supplies — and class rings. I inquired about class rings and decided to buy one.
Cost: $135.00.
Seem low? That was in May 1976.
That ring is one of my proudest possessions. I worked very hard for four years to earn my M.B.A. My ring reminds me of that. Now I need to take it to a jeweler to have it resized. Funny how our fingers get a little larger as the years go by….
