Memorial Day

Just want to take a moment to pay my respects to all the servicemen and servicewomen that gave their lives for our country - their sacrifices will never be forgotten.  And I would like to add my gratitude and admiration to all of our soldiers and sailors.

God Bless America.

Have to admit this pic startled me cause just yesterday my sis showed me a pick of her father-in-laws stone that was just put in place (he passed in March)….He was a WW11 vet and it was painful to see his stone decorated with a flag too….

(wipes a tear)

Yes…Thanks to all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice …and the families they left behind….and to all those now serving and their families that wait for them with anxiousness…

Gotta scoot….

This will be the first Memorial Day since 1979 that I haven’t been in uniform for either active duty or reserves. It seems strange that I am now among the “old-timers” and have handed the duties over to the “youngsters”. I Thank all my shipmates and brothers (and sisters) in arms that have served and are still serving. God Bless you, your families, and come home safely and soon.

Hey JD….

In Canada is our Memorial Day the Canadian Remembrance Day or is that on November 11?

Just figured out that I’m not getting RSS notices! What’s up with that?! Was wondering why it was so quiet!
Can’t believe they actually had live pictures of a tornado and you weren’t there to talk about it! Has that ever happened before?
Am looking at the devastation in IA. I used to live in IA but our city was never hit even though I spent a lot of time in the basement. I have a feeling before long the word “historic” is going to start being used. I don’t ever remember this many tornadoes this quickly into the season. So many deaths already, so much damage…..so heartbreaking!

You are the most entrancing weather person on all of television . . . cable and broadcast!!! You not only report the weather, but you show compassion for the people under which the weather falls! The look on your face and the sound of your voice gives me hope against the automotons that simply read the teleprompter and point to places they can’t describe.

You are a gem!
