Hey Janice:

Hey, fellow Machinites. Today in Flushing, the temps are 78 degrees. A few clouds in the sky. Nice blue skies, trees and plants are at full greenery (the spirits of the forest have returned). Nice breeze…Very tropical. :)

Hey gang,

I’m back in Cumberland where it’s a nice balmy 90 degrees out. (Actually, the humidity isn’t too bad.) What a difference a few days make! My house stayed nice and cool so I’m comfortable. I came back a little earlier than planned today. I wanted to go to a big outdoor art/craft show with my brother and his family but when we went out for breakfast, I got a nasty headache and decided to come back early to rest. That gave me the opportunity to stop by my favorite spot in Allegany County to take some pictures. I just sent one to Janice on the U-report page so you’ll get a chance to see it. What I like about it is that it’s right next to the highway so all I had to do is pull over on the shoulder to take pictures. I hope you enjoy it.

The picture I sent was one of 318 I took this weekend! That’s the nice thing about a digital camera. I can take a few hundred pictures and I don’t have to pay for all that developing! We had a big party with my family and lots of cousins on Saturday and there were a bunch of kids to photograph. Then yesterday I went to visit my brother and his family and their friends came over with their 2 little ones. I got some great pictures. My little nephew was just adorable. He loved it when they went out to blow bubbles. I think he spent about an hour chasing bubbles that various people blew for him. I got some great shots of him. My sister-in-law took him outside yesterday for more bubble adventures and I got even better pictures then. I got some great pictures of the other kids that were there, so I’m sure they will enjoy them when I share them.

I do have a really funny story to tell. When I stayed at my brothers last night I stayed in their guest room downstairs. In that room they have an Elvis lamp right next to the bed. (The base is a bust of Elvis.) This morning when I woke up, I opened my eyes and Elvis was staring right at me! I bet I can safely say that I’m the only one on this blog to have Elvis staring at them in the morning!

Now I have to decide whether my hunger outweighs my need for a nap. I can’t quite decide right now. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend and I just want to add my respect and gratitude to all those who have fought for our freedom and lost their lives. Thanks too, to those who have served or are currently serving. God bless you all.

Margie

Nice and warm here! Went to the ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial and a quick picnic outside. Then off to get a couple of pairs of slacks and shirts for a working trip to England in a couple of weeks. Back to work tomorrow……;-)
