Checking in…
Hey guys!
Thought I would check in and say hello. Still not feeling 100 percent, but I was able to do a few chores around the apartment today and I’m not as dizzy as I was a few days ago which is a good sign. The heat has kept me indoors, although my husband braved the high sweat-factor and went to the Belmont Racetrack to see Big Brown lose Big Time. I forgot to watch on television, but he said it was just a shame of a race considering all the hype and the odds of winning. He has his little conspiracy theories as to why this horse did so poorly, but I forgot to ask him if I could write about them on the blog, so I’ll leave it to you to also speculate as to why the horse didn’t match up to the expectations. I have to admit I find it hard to watch these horses being pushed so hard to win. It seems cruel to me…but that’s just my opinion. I’d rather stick to lottery tickets or scratch off cards!
The tornado count over the last few weeks and months has been so incredibly high - we are on track to record-territory in terms of twister numbers and widespread damage this year. Hopefully the severe threat will start to diminish over the next few weeks as we get into the summertime months. This is a great article summerizing the season so far, and putting everything in context. We still have a risk of tornadoes tonight and tomorrow for the storm weary central U.S., and the heat will be the big story in the east Sunday and the early part of next week.
Thanks again for your wonderful support and well wishes. I hope to be back at work on Monday. And I hope I’m feeling up to a little celebrating tomorrow since my husband and I are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary! :) A couple of you mentioned you already knew this, and I’m impressed with your memory! Take care everyone - hopefully I’ll see you Monday!

Ciao
Hey Janice..
Good to hear you are feeling better..
You look EXTRA beautiful and radiant on your wedding day…the happiness runneth over in your smile…You guys make such a great couple..Happy 1st Anniversary..and I wish you many..many more!!!
Take care..
Deb
Glad you’re feeling a bit better JD !!!
It sounds almost like a type of flu that you’re suffering from?
Look at the happy couple, one year so far, has it gone by quickly for you?
I live only 30 minutes from the Saratoga race track and late July is when all the Thoroughbreds come to town for six weeks. The atmosphere at a thoroughbred track is amazing and the horses are athletes just like baseball, basketball or football players. I have no problem with horse racing, but I do feel some owners or trainers do push certain horses too hard due to the large investment in them.
What concerns me more is what happens to a horse once they retire from racing? Some find their way into police departments and some pull the carriages around Central Park or in other large cities. A group also works very hard to place retired thoroughbreds with private owners or at other non-thoroughbred farms. There are a few local thoroughbred farms here locally and two that I know of routinely take in retirees from the sport. They either keep the horse or find homes for them.
Yes the triple Hs here in upstate NY, I loathe it so!!!!! We’ve endured a few nasty T-storms due to the weather, but nothing like the storms and flooding in Indiana.
My daughter is camping at a state campground as a after the senior ball event, I hope they don’t get soaked with a pop up T-storm. As she knows her Dad knows many of the state’s forest rangers she called me this morning asking if they should expect a visit. I told her no, but did give her his phone number just in case they need help and that he knows she is there.
I wouldn’t embarrass her like that, I know how it would make me feel.
Hey Janice,
Thanks for sharing the photo with us! You two do make a beautiful couple. I’m glad you’re feeling a little better and I hope that trend continues! You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers.
It got up to 95 degrees today. Needless to say, I didn’t go outside! I went out to pick up my newspaper this morning at it was already awful around 11:00 so I decided I wasn’t going out anymore. It 90 by noon so I knew we would get pretty hot. It’s still 84 degrees now at a little past 9:00 p.m. and my air conditioners are cranking away. I’m glad you stayed inside today. I’m sure it was much worse in the city.
I watched the horse race and it was very disappointing. I’m not into horse racing at all but I do watch the three big ones. I don’t know what happened, but I don’t blame the horse for not wanting to run when it’s 90+ degrees outside.
I hope you continue to improve and that you’ll be able to enjoy your anniversary. Take care of yourself and don’t try to do too much.
Take care,
Margie
What a beautiful picture: you guys radiate happiness.
And when I think of you, that’s precisely the Janice I have in mind!!
Happy anniversary to both of you!
And I’m glad you’re recovering Janice.
Slowly but surely (no rush!)
And yes, just like you, I feel bad about all the pressure these horses come under… not to mention the steroids that some of them receive….but I’m very curious to hear your hubby’s conspiracy theories
Guillaume
Hey there JD,
I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling at least a little bit better. Unfortunately, I seem to be coming down with some sort of bug tonight. I’ve felt ill the last few days with something else, but now that seems to be slowly going away, and now I’m left to deal with something that’s just as irritating
And of course, as luck would have it, we have company that arrived last night, and is staying through the weekend. And thanks to whatever it is that I’m coming down with, I can’t enjoy their being here. They don’t come up here very often either, so I’ll just have to hope that their next visit won’t be too long from now, and that I’ll be feeling much better!
Thanks for sharing that beautiful picture of you and your husband! As has been said already, you guys make a wonderful couple. Happy 1st Anniversary!
As for Big Brown, well, I watched today’s race, whereas I didn’t watch either of the first two. I must be bad luck…
Take good care of yourself, and I hope that I’ll see you on Monday!
Justin
Happy early Anniversary Janice & Sean!
What a beautiful couple you make.
It’s already a year, wow time flies.
Glad you’re feeling better JD.
Tornado touched down in northern Ontario (Sault Ste Marie)
Very hot/humid here in the OV Ontario, close to 90 at one point.
Happy anniversary. It’s good that your feeling better. Except for when I take Rolex out I’m hibernating inside also. Expected heat index today 110
By the way, since we are already June 8th…did you imply the other day, Dawn, that it was also your Mom’s birthday today???!
)
Or am I mistaken?! (sometimes I have way too much imagination
In any case:
Happy Flowery Blooming birthday to your Mom!
Guillaume
I hope your husband won some dough! I did! The easiest money you will ever make on the Belmont Stakes when there is a horse going for the crown is the “field” bet. As you know, that is EVERY OTHER HORSE in the race! Big Brown was such a favorite that I found odds on the field at 6-1 on an off shore betting site. I did OK!
What gets all the horses is the longer distance and in the high heat…forget it!
I’m up early getting ready to head for the airport and off for my week in England. I’ll bring some photos back.
Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better……I still think you had the Stanley Cup blahs.
And Pete….a tornado in the Soo? How could you tell? Just kidding. That is from a friend in Manitoba that has replaced the Newfies in Newfie jokes with folks from the Soo.
Janice!!..
…Having a case of the yucks justa stinksa!
So glad to hear you are feeling on the upswing
Happy Anniversary to you and Sean…..June 8th is a special day huh? You guys chose a great day…
Guillaume…Yes it is my mom’s b-day….and we have pulled together a gathering of friends and family unbeknown to her
..She is 70…..
Imaginations can be really fun Guillaume!!!….that is if they dont get ya in trouble
…HA!
Everyone have a good one…Justin take care…
And Happy Anniversary again Janice…You really were a beautiful bride and a more lovely woman as a whole…You just radiate sheer joy
…Its a pleasure to blog here and get to know “you” and the others a bit more..
Gotta scoot!!
(Oh PS to Deb…I made your strawberry frid cake for her birthday…
)
JD,
Glad you are feeling better. Very GLAD!!
We love you here in Boston.
Happy Anniversary.
*Be good, but too good*.
Hi gang!
Dawn, happy birthday to your mom!!!
Janice, happy anniversary to you and Sean! You do make a great couple.
I’m with Don in Richmond about staying inside. It’s already over 80 degrees. I got up early with every intention to go to Sunday school class and the worship service, but I woke up feeling really tired–which is not a good thing after a full night’s sleep! I don’t think this heat is helping me recover from whatever it is I’ve been battling. I’m keeping the Kleenex Company in business because I still have some congestion in my head and I’ve been going through tissues like crazy. I think I’m going to stay inside where it’s nice and cool. It snuck up to 97 degrees yesterday. I thought it was “only” 95 but when I checked my weather station last night, it read 97 for the high. I mounted my temperature sensor away from my house where it never gets sunlight, so I know it’s pretty accurate. It’s usually pretty close to what Weather Bug says.
I have a fun photo project to work on for next weekend when my family gets together for Father’s Day. I’m going through all our old slides and I’m going to put a slide show together. My mom loves looking at them and my little niece enjoys seeing what her daddy looked like when he was her age. I’m debating whether or not I want to spend the time scanning them to put them in a PowerPoint presentation instead of a slide show. I’ll have to see how many I wind up with. I should send in to U-report one of my favorite pictures of me when I was just a few years old. I was giving my doll a bath and it is really cute. And it’s really funny too, because I took a picture of my niece a couple years ago that was the same angle as the picture of me and it turns out she looks so much like me when I was that age. My brother freaked out at that! My mom and I got a good laugh out of it. I can’t remember who it was, but someone in this group sent in a photo when they were little, so I might do the same. That would be a fun thing to start, especially for those who don’t feel comfortable with sending a current picture in.
Now I have to decide whether or not I want to go back to bed or actually do something useful with my day. I haven’t decided that yet. I hope everyone has a great day and that you stay cool wherever you may be.
Margie
JD Congrats on One Year. I remember you announcing your engagement. Then I think it was Bill Hemmer or Jon Scott that leaked you were off getting married. I think it was Bill because Megyn told him to be quiet it was private. Seems like yesterday to me, may your marriage be as happy today as when you were engaged!
What I know about animals is there are “things” that can make them run, slow them down or rip the muscles to look spectacular. We see that in the goat and pig showing world. The ones that do it are not caring for the animal long term. Nutrition, training and conditioning is so different than “the tricks”. I couldn’t sleep at night if we did that, but many people will use anyone to get what they want. So who knows how much junk is put in those horses on every track every day. I did hear on fox that HGH was used on race horses, and it was a common practice. The trainer or owner was admitting it, not sure which horse though.
Happy anniversary and get well soon!
I live in north central Iowa. Our entire area is under flood warnings after a wild night last night of tornadoes and heavy rain. The Winnebago River is at record levels at Mason City and will go a couple of feet higher. A levee has also failed here. Rain is forecast all week, and expected to be heavy later today. People have been evacuated in some locations, some roads washed out, others under water. Those of you who are praying people, we could use them.
Hey Scott,
I hope you’re being careful with all that crazy weather. The weather is so crazy when one part of the country gets way more rain than it needs while other parts are bone dry. I hope people use common sense in bad weather because no material possession is worth losing your life for. I’ll be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care,
Margie
We are suppose to have the same weather again tomorrow with the same heat index.
I started feeling confined from when I realized our men in Iraq are in much hotter weather and in uniform and body armor.
I will never complain again of the heat.
(Oops..posted in wrong thread)
Hi all….Hope everyone had an ok day…
Party went well and my mother was deeply touched and taken by surprised….
Just about an hour ago we also had some really severe thunderstorms go thru…been a long time since I have seen the skies get THAT dark for a storm…on the radar it was “big red blog” attack…
But it did drop the temps by 25 degrees….It was upper 90s…now low 70s…It was very very warm and beginning to feel stifling
Deb…Cake was very big hit…When the left over food was being dished out to others my step father told my mother..”NOT THE CAKE! Keep the cake!!”…He liked it that much…
Ok….here is something to chat about…
What kind of movies do you guys like?…Im pretty eclectic but do have a thing for older more classic movies….
A fav of mine is on tonight…a Henry Fonda/Lucille Ball comedy…”Yours, Mine, and Ours”….based on the real story of the the Beadersley family….
I come from a blended family so this story always amuses me…Although the number of kids between the 2 of them is a bit extreme…(She had 8…he had 10..they get married and have more!!)
I think my biggest of all time classic movie favs though is “Best Years of Our Lives”…But I do have a boat load of movies I enjoy….
Hey Dawn,
I have to admit that I’m not a real big movie fan. I don’t know why that is. I have seen some good ones over the years, but I usually watch them on TV instead of in the theater. It’s been a while since I’ve seen one in the theater, probably because they cost so much! One of my favorites from a number of years ago was “Apollo 13.” Even though you knew how it would end, it still had you on the edge of your seat. It was so well done. My favorite classic that I never get tired of is “The Wizard of Oz.” That will be around forever. I saw a great BBC production of “Jane Eyre” (on video) with Timothy Dalton that I just loved. Then of course, there’s the ever lovable “Forrest Gump” when you feel like “life is like a box of chocolates…” Another movie that I really love, even though the morality leaves a lot to be desired, is “Arthur” with Dudley Moore. He was just so cute. When Janice shared her pictures from Central Park, it reminded me of the line in that movie, “Through the park, Bitterman. You know how I love the park!” So I guess you can say I have an eclectic taste, too! I’m sure I’ll think of more as soon as I send this, but that’s just a few of mine.
Margie
Hello Janice.
Glad you are feeling better and congratulations on one year.
I like the pic. Have a wonderful day!
An update on our flooding in N. Central Iowa. The Winnebago River crested at just under 18 1/2 feet, blowing the old record crest away by about 3 feet. The water level almost exceded the capacity of the automatic measuring equipment. The flood reached the Mason City water plant, forcing it to shut down. No tap water and no flushing toilets. People were rushing the stores for bottled water. Lots of spots with water over the roads. A levee broke. In all, a wild couple of days, and it’s not over yet.
Hey Dawn I’m glad your Mom’s party for her birthday went well and that even the cake was a success
Just realized my Mom is going to be 70 too this year in October.
Alas I won’t be with her…have to think about a nice gift though!
I LOOOOVE movies. We even refer to them as Cinema in my native country, and consider it “the Seventh Art”, as we often say.
Love any kind of movies, from comedies to the old classic ones from the 40s (Casablanca, early Hitchcock like Shadow of a Doubt or Rebeca). Also love all the legendary movies from the 50’s, 60s 70s, 80’s….well, all periods is fine with me as long as the movie is good!
And in the end, movies are soooo subjective.
But the black and white Hollywood movies from the 40s are special to me because they were the only movies showed in what we call “original version” (English) on French TV when I grew up, twice a week; all the rest was dubbed in French!
)
(there were only three channels on TV
I still prefer big screen when I can. Some theaters here do play old movies on big screen like they do in Paris.
But movie tickets are so expensive in general; that’s really a shame
But if it was not for movies, my life would be so boring!
Guillaume
Hi, Janice:
Glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Just want you to know that my Sunday school class had you on the prayer list today. I teach 4th graders and have now for about 16 years. I used to have 3rd and 4th graders, but as our church grew, we had a need to split the classes. At any rate, you were in our prayers today, so hope you felt the power of prayer all the way from Mississippi. Love the picture of you and Sean. You are a gorgeous couple! I wish you many, many years of happiness to come. My husband and I have been married for 33 years (in August). I can’t say that every moment has been easy, but I can say that we love one another now more than we did in 1975. I think I’ll keep him!
Having been an owner of horses my entire life, I know that they are natural runners. I think, though, that the heat may have been a factor in Big Brown’s loss. He just never kicked into high gear like he’s done in other races, and he beat the winner in a previous race. Go figure. Horses don’t always do what you ask them to. My pick was the gray. I think his name was Macho Again or Macho something. He was a beauty, but he came in 4th. My husband had picked Icabad Crane. He came in next to last (in front of Big Brown). The race was really a disappointment after all the hype.
Made another strawberry cake today. YUM! So glad Deb passed that recipe along to us.
Back to work in the morning. Hope everyone has a great week.
Gwen
YOU ARE TOO BEAUTIFUL FOR WORDS!!! Congratulations to you guys! I can’t believe its been a year - how wonderful. I remember earlier than that when you couldn’t stop hinting to your special someone on air about needing a ring, needing to marry, NOT being married already, etc … hahaha
Hope you’re feeling better soon and please do something about all this horrible weather - hot or disastrous!!! (Like people asking us to stretch stainless steel in our line of work!)
Congrats on one year. I hope you feel better. It is not the same without the “Weather Machine”.
This weather reminds me of Dante’s concentric circles.
Hey Janice..
I hope you and your hubby had a Happy Anniversary..and I hope you are feeling better..
Dawn..Happy Birthday to your MOM..and I am honored you made my cake for her Birthday..In the movie department..I like scarey but not bloody..something that keeps you on the edge of your seat..with a twisted plot..Forrest Gump is one of my all time favorites along with Castaway..(I really like Tom Hanks)..and I like mushy love stories too..I watched a remake of Sybil last night on TV and it was really good..Jessica Lange was in it..
It’s late and I am off to bed..talk to you guys tomorrow…
Deb
Happy belated birthday to JD’s Mother from a fellow OVer.
Yes Don, put some of those Soo jokes here.
Tornado warning for Toronto too!
Nice and hot all day, about 1140pm it started to pour rain.
Went and biked for a couple of hours before that.
Wanted to make it on here sooner but the days just fly by around here. Wanted to wish you a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Hard to believe it’s been a whole year already! Hope you were feeling well enough to do something special to celebrate! Always really concerned when you’re not feeling well. Hope to see you in the morning! Well…if my granddaughter falls asleep when she gets here, that is. If she’s awake all I’ll get to see is Sesame Street and Curious George……
I am taking the kiddos for an outing today! I hope you feel better Janice!
That is such a wonderful photo of you two Janice ! Happy 1st Annniversary !
Hi Janice!
I saw you on TV recently - I was so happy to see you! You are my favorite female on Fox - I loved it when you were on in the mornings on the weekend - the dancing was hilarious - and of course when you were on with Shepard as well. You are a truly delightful woman.
Happy Anniversary! I have been in love with a firefighter for 30 years - they’re the best!
I wish you many happy years to come, and I look forward to seeing you on air again real soon.
Happy anniversary JD and hubby … You makes such a cute couple …
My folks celebrated their 48th anniversary in April …
I guess saying that it’s 49 & rainy here will probably get stuff thrown at me … The wind is picking up … I just hope the power / cable don’t go out whilst I’m trying to watch my “GREEK” marathon today/tonight as the season finale is on at 8pm …
Hey, what’s the white stuff in this pic ??

I pray everything is okay and I along with the others miss you..
Hope to hear from you soon..
Deb
Yes this is very unusal not to hear from Janice for a few days. I hope and pray she has not taken a serious turn for the worst. I can’t also help but to think that she might be encountering difficulties with MS?
Worried in Scotia, NY
Hey Bill,
I don’t want to try to diagnose anything, but Janice mentioned in her last post about being dizzy and that can be one of the symptoms of MS. It’s not a good sign that she hasn’t posted anything for a few days so I don’t know what to think about that. I have been praying for her throughout the day, every day since she went home sick last week, and I hope she’ll check in with us soon. I’m just trusting that God will take good care of her.
Margie
Looks like all of us are certainly concerned about Janice right now. I agree that it’s so unlike her not to check in.
Janice, I am also keeping you in my prayers. Hope that you are much better soon.
Gwen
Love Ya Janice…
I just found this site, I am a huge fan of FOX news and Janice Dean. I just read her post from March about having MS. I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. It is scary not knowing from day to day how your health is going to be. I too will keep her in my thoughts and prayers and hope for her speedy recovery.
Janice,
I’m wishing you the best and hope you’re 100% soon. You’re in my prayers.
Hey Karen……
Welcome to our little community. This is a wonderful place. I’m not a spokesman for us, but wanted
to welcome you and thank you also for your concern about JD.
JD…..The longer we don’t hear from you the more worried I and everyone else are getting about you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Sunny
Karen…
Welcome
You have picked a neat blog to be part of….
Hi Karen,
I want to join Sunny in welcoming you to our group. We have a wonderful group here and we are all concerned about Janice. Since you have MS, too, you have a better idea of the things Janice is dealing with. Thanks for posting and we look forward to more of your posts!
Margie
Keep smiling Janice, even through the frustration. My gal has many of the same issues as you and smiles and TLC seem to help a lot. Oh, and massages and footrubs! Lots of footrubs! Hehe. Take care and hope to see you back on the air soon. Mark from Montana (moving soon to Florida to be with my gal)
Get well soon, stay our of the heat, I know how it can zap you due to MS.
Yea , that’s my B day, a long long time ago.
Very concerned about Janice. She has not checked in since Saturday
JD,
I’m sure that you know we all love you and wish the very best for you. As much as it may heighten our concerns we know you’ll check in when you are able. Please do not rush it on our account just concentrate on yourself.
In the meantime we can certainly communicate back and forth with each other. For some reason I think that is what you would want us to do.
Hey Gang………
What has the weather been like in your neck of the woods?
Here in the Albany, NY area it’s been hot and oppressively humid since Friday. Tonight a cold front is moving through and some pretty nasty T-Storms have been popping up scattered throughout the area. We were under a tornado watch all afternoon and some areas south and east of Albany still are.
Dawn….unless if it’s been lifted I see the National Weather Service has Connecticut under a tornado watch until 8 AM Wednesday morning.
I can honestly say only two things turn me off about the Northeast:
1. Summertime heat and oppressive humidity, but it’s nothing like the humidity in the South.
2. Our tax and spend politicians for some reason the think we’re loaded.
Hey, Bill:
I’ve been seeing where the northeast has been having some of our weather. I hate the heat and the humidity, too. (Also the politicians who think we’re all loaded and want to take more of our money to give to their pet causes/projects.) At any rate, we’ve been in the mid to upper 90’s for the last week or so. Believe me, we won’t have a break from it until September at the earliest. By then we may be able to breathe again.
Hello to Margie, Dawn, Deb, Sunny, Dawn, Don and any other of our regular group that I left out. Where are Luis and Guillame? I haven’t read anything from either of them in a few days. Hello also to any new bloggers. We’re a pretty hospitable group here. We keep it pretty light and friendly. Only thing is right now we’re all concerned about Janice.
Take care, everyone. Hope that tomorrow is a good day for all of us.
Gwen
Hi Bill,
I hope you don’t have any nasty thunderstorms. As I left work this afternoon, the sky turned black, the wind blew (a 40 mph high gust) and thunder rumbled, but right where I live, not a drop fell. I checked the radar and it just missed us to the north. It definitely knocked down the humidity and it will be more comfortable tomorrow. I hope it is more comfortable for those who have been struggling with the oppressive heat and humidity. I’m hoping Janice will be more comfortable wherever she may be.
Hang in there everyone,
Margie
Hi Gwen! I saw your note after I submitted mine so I just wanted to respond with a big hello! I can imagine that summers are pretty awful in your neck of the woods. Hang in there!
Margie
We just got a nasty thunderstorm in Manhattan.
Scary but pretty fast: it didn’t last much.
hope we’ll get much needed cool air by now.
Which reminds me, Janice, the old proverb: “after the rain comes the sunshine” .
(do you say the same here too, in English?!)
Keep your spirits high
Much love
Guillaume
Hey Gwen,
Thinking about you being in Mississippi got me thinking about the Civil War for some reason, I don’t know why. With that thought about the war and our recent weather I began thinking about the Honeymoon my Ex and I had in 1983.
We went to the Gettysburg, Pa - Frederick, MD area and it was over the 4th of July weekend, oddly enough during the same time of year the battle took place. It was oppressively hot and humid there in 1983 just as it was in 1863.
We toured the battlefield and the only thought that kept racing through my mind was “How did the soldiers do it?”. Those heavy wool uniforms and ghastly heat and humidity, I wondered how many suffered from heat exhaustion?
Hi everyone……..
Nasa has sent back the first picture of water on Mars:
Let me know what you thnk of this historic photo.
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/0504/WaterOnMars2_gcc
Bill…….I had about the same experience at Gettysburg. Hot and Humid….almost wierd and very thought provoking.
Weatherwise……here in Denver this morning it was a cool 44 but this afternoon it got all the way to 93 degrees. Sunny with only 4% humidity. Pretty typical Summertime weather here. Fortunately for us it almost never gets hot and humid like back East.
Glad to hear everyone is keeping in touch and let’s all keep Janice in our prayers tonight.
Sunny
Here’s another try at the NASA photo, sorry everyone…………
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/0504/WaterOnMars2_gcc.jpg
Sunny
Thinking of you Janice.
Hope everything is ok.
Rained hard in the ole OV today while it was sunny and bright outside of Fox News Studios earlier this morning.
Checking in from London Town! London England, not London Ontario Pete.
Weather here has been fantastic. Sunny and warm but clouds just now coming in. Doing some sightseeing between meetings and work. I may be the first person to come home with an English suntan. I’ll post pics later!
Take Care Janice! I’ll blog at ya when I get home!
Bill…and others…
Yea we were under a tornado watch here for some time…Kinda odd to see that red box cover the area on a map…
Very brutal here over the weekend…with yesterday’s temps being the worse….woke up this morning and it had broken (mid 60’s) and heading to mid 90’s…..
The crew has been keeping limited hours at work…esp field work (hoeing) they have been sent home at lunch time…
We got those thunderstorms that Guillaume got as well…knocked out power to some customers in the state…
Gratefully no need for the A/C today….got the windows open for some clean fresh air flowing….
Talking about the Civil War…my step-father is a real Civil War geek and both he and my mother have been to the battlefields and even seen re-enactments…In fact their dentist is a Civil War re-enactor….
Sending good thoughts to all…
Gotta scoot….
Good morning gang,
I’m just checking in to wish everyone a good day. Janice, we miss you! I hope everyone survived those thunderstorms if you were in the middle of them. The storm that just missed Cumberland nailed other areas. There are a couple pictures in today’s paper, one of which is of 6-foot diameter tree that was knocked down by straight line winds in Frostburg. The other tree didn’t look quite as big. They just observed the 10th anniversary of that major tornado that hit there, so I’m sure they were on edge yesterday as the storms blew in. I had to dodge flying debris on my way home from work, but at least it wasn’t as bad as Frostburg. Be safe everyone!
