Janice Dean the Weather Machine

Surprise NEWS on Fox and Friends!

Hi everyone.

I was called in this morning to help out with the Midwest flood story on Fox and Friends, and was all set to do that throughout the show when I was told Alisyn was not feeling well, and would I mind doing both the weather and the news this morning!   Well, I said yes despite all of a sudden getting a big case of the jitters!  Thankfully, the Fox and Friends crew are sweet as can be, and made me feel like part of the gang right away.  I’ve never done news in the studio in front of that big Blue Wall before - and I’ve never had to stand on a box to do the news either, so these were all new and a little intimidating factors during my morning.  All and all I think it went well, and I was asked to stay to do the After the Show Show too!  That part of the morning was also extremely fun, although the subject matter turned a little risque, so watch at your own risk!  (I will get the Viewer Services folks to post it here later on)

I will give you an update on what’s going weather-wise  a little later, but I wanted to say hi first, and hope everyone had a great weekend.

Janice……

Well, well, well, not only are you the Weather Machine….but now you are the News Machine. (Thought that was very cute.) I was very impressed how you were able to stand there with your legs crossed and not fall over….great job.

You are looking chipper and back to your old self.(Not old, but the way you used to be.) Really great to have you back and feeling better.

Hi, to everyone. Hope everyone had a great father’s Day weekend. It was hot and dry here in Denver with low 90s. I had a great weekend. I’ll send pics later.

Hey Sunny - yes, it was tough to balance a little bit on the news “box” but it probably took my mind off of how nervous I was. Almost back to my “old” self again…glad you had a wonderful father’s day weekend and I look forward to your pics!

Janice you did great! It was a welcome surprise when I tuned in to see Alisyn and you were there!

Comment by Janice Dean

Hey Kathy, thank you! Alisyn does such a great job - so I had tough shoes to fill!

Good Morning, JD!

It was great to see you so early this morning. That was a rare treat for me, since I normally leave for work at 7:30 am (Central Time). You even danced for us this morning–too cute! Thanks for getting up a little extra early so that you could join in with the normal nuttiness on F&F. I’ll check out the AtSS later today, too.

It was a great weekend! We even got rain–although only .5 inch, but I just say “Thank you, Lord!” every time it rains. It has gotten so dry; our lawn is getting brown and crunchy. I know those poor people in the mid section of the country wish the rain would stop; but I’m thrilled every time I see it. Extremes on either end of the weather spectrum are not good.

Have a great week! You looked fantastic this morning.

Hey Gwen. Thank you for such nice comments. Fox and Friends is such a fun place to be a part of. And I do know how thankful you guys are when you get some of that much needed rain! :)

I didn’t see you Janice but did listen on XM radio on the way to the dog park. Was picturing the mombo on the box… Weather wise it was so nice I stayed at the park till 8:30 and then hit WalMart on the way home. It was cool enough to let Rolex in the car for the 5 minutes with the sunroof open I needed to get what I needed.

Comment by Janice Dean

Hey Don. Glad you had such a nice leisurely morning with Rolex! I wish I had a dog too! :)

You really shouldn’t have put arsenic in Alisyn’s coffee, Janice!

Just joking - I saw a little of you on F&F this morning. You looked great!

Comment by Janice Dean

Aww thanks Joe…Ali should be back tomorrow hopefully!

Hi Janice!

I’m back from the UK! Hope my pics got thru! We’ve lost the feeds for all the news channels here at work on our computers. The only time anyone notices is when the Fox feed stops. We have our choice of Fox, CNBC, CNN, Headline News, BBC, Al Jazzera, Iranian TV, and Chinese TV. I think Fox is the ratings leader….unless Al Jazzera is showing “Those Wacky Iraqis” (just kidding…no one ever cares what they have to say). ;-)

Comment by Janice Dean

Hi Don! I will look for your pix tomorrow I promise and post them asap! I hope you had a nice time!

I’m sorry I missed “The Early Show,” Janice, but I bet you did beautifully!

Be sure to look for the image I sent you late last night in care of “America’s Morning.” You’ll get a kick out of it!

Your buddy,

I will certainly look for it George. It’s on my list tomorrow morning as soon as I get in.

Afternoon….damp here with severe thunderstorms forecast….Been looking at Iowa and other footage of flooded areas….what a heartbreak for all concerned…and I twinge when I see the farm lands….Expect that devastation to hit our own pocketbooks everywhere….Thats a big chunk of the corn crops…

Comment by Janice Dean

Yes, Dawn - I’ve been reading about how tragic this is for the farmers. It’s hard to really grasp all of this. And every day it seems to just get worse.

Janice-

You did an awesome job doing both the weather and anchoring the news this morning. You must be proud to be on the FNC team. You are a smart and intelligent person, and a whiz when it comes to computers.

Take Care.

Comment by Janice Dean

Hey Brad! Thank you. I’m not so sure about the computer whiz comments, but I sure do try hard!

Comment by Brian

Janice - You were great!! Especially that little dance you did on the box. Very cool and sexy.

Comment by Janice Dean

Hey Brian! It was tough trying to boogie on the box this morning!

Janice is such a good addition to Fox. I was so delighted when I missed her on Imus doing the “Scum
Report” to find her on Fox. We didn’t have Fox at the time and Imus was the only thing I could watch, so you can imagine the thrill I had that year, I got Fox News, It was the Year of a Presidential Election and I at some point I got to see that Janice had moved.
She is great at the weather and does a darn nice job at news reader. I know her health has not been good, so I’m delighted to give her a plug.

Comment by Janice Dean

Hey Margaret, thank you for your kind words. I’m lucky to work at such a great place now - and I’m just thankful all the time for everything I’ve been blessed with - including my health despite its ups and downs :)

I’m one of the few people (on this blog) to have the honor of seeing JD do the news every morning on her old station the NEWRO, which is now called A-Channel, soon only to be known as A. JD just keeps getting better and better. :) We are blessed to have JD. :)

Congrats to Sean on his promotion. :)

On a weather note, it rained, thundered part of the morning in this part of the OV. :)

Janice
Saw you doing the news. Great job. I like your weather reports because you put a lot of feeling into them and not “Just doing my job”. A lot of weater casters only seem excited when they can report wild weather but you seem to love your work no mater what the weather is but also show feelings when storms do damage to people and their homes.
If your ever up in Harrison MI stop in and say howdy!
