Open Blog

Hello everyone!

My mom, my Aunt and my Uncle are in town this weekend, so blogging will be sporatic over the next few days.   My favorite intern Krista is still posting your pictures, though, so you’ll see those pop up periodically.

I have to work on Saturday and Sunday though, so I will check in then.

Are you up to anything fun this weekend?

Seen any good movies?  I’m going to try and see Wall-E this weekend.  :)   I’m a sucker for robot movies!

Talk to you soon…

JD…..

Good morning, hope you have a great visit. I’m having to work at the TV station on a double shift today. On the air for Mid-Day show and evening shows. I’ll get to forecast more severe T-storms later today. Last night we had lots of lightning fires in the South of Denver.

Got to get to work. Hope everyone has a great day.

Have fun with the family!! :-) Have a good week-end Sunny and Richard!

This will be the first week-end in awhile where I don’t work or travel so I’m going to go over to the National Gallery and look at the new exhibits and walk the national mall to “people watch”. Tonight we have to go to the arena and check out our new seats for the upcoming hockey season and see if they will be ok. It’s 94 degrees and humid and I am already planning for hockey season. ;-) Yep, I’m a hockey nut you betcha!

Richard; I was staying at a hotel at Marble Arch in London. Is that near you?

Hey Janice-

That is awful that you have to work this weekend. Its just not right. At least you get the next 2 days off to make up for it :)

Hope you have a wonderful time with the family, and let us know how the movie goes. If it lived up to the hype.

Don-

Did you happen to hear about Barry Melrose being named head coach yesterday? He is a legend in the sport.

I wanted to know what are everyones thoughts about the Don Imus situation. I personally think he shouldnt be reprimanded this time around. Give the guy a break, all he was saying was the reason why that football player kept getting arrested was because of his skin color. I dont think he meant to do any harm.

Plus did anyone here see the report on Fox and Friends First about the best place to sit on an airplane if a terrible accident happens? Apparently its the 2 sides, right next to the emergency exit doors.

For me, i prefer not to fly on airplanes, especially not on the long flights overseas. You can get a deadly blood clot in your legs, called deep venous thrombosis(DVT), plus the overall air quality in a plane has been proven to make a person sick.

Hi Brad!

Whenever I think of Melrose, I remember his player getting caught with the illegal stick in the cup final against Montreal that got the penalty that set up the Canadiens Stanley Cup winning goal. Way to go coach! ;-) No team should ever get caught like that in such an important game.

Tampa is in our division so I figure it just got tougher for us. Janice’s Sens drafted so many Swedes that I think Swedish may become the third language in Ontario!!

Cut Imus a break! And having Al Sharpton lecture him is the height of chutzpah!

I think Al Sharpton has made a ton of insenstive reamarks that could have been interpreted as racial, but do you see him banned from the air because of it? No.

Its just that remark that Golf Channel anchor made against Tiger Woods. Apparently Tiger and his publicist didnt even think it was such a big deal, but here comes Sharpton and others trying to blow things way out of proportion.

JD, have a good weekend with the OV tourists. :)

Well if Melrose was the coach the year the Leafs Dougie Gilmour got hit in the face from #99 stick and no punishment was called and LA went on to win the series then all ended fair. :) haha! 93 was the yr Montreal won the cup and the last Canadian team to do so. I was in the area the night they won the cup, wow what excitement and riots in the city that night. :)

Tiger Woods doesn’t think much of hockey so he said during the Stanley Cup playoff finals.

On the subject of Al Sharpton, he’s like Al Gore but with a collar, where is that man’s Church anyway?

Hey Janice..

I hope you have a great visit with your family. The Wall-E previews looks like it would be a cute movie. and I like Robots too..especially nice ones.

Finally got a little rain shower earlier today..it only lasted about 20 minutes..but it was heavy and fierce..and very needed. And I am hoping for another dose tomorrow..

No special plans for this weekend..but next week and weekend we have several family Birthdays and the 4th..so I think we are going to do a combo deal..and wrap it up in one celebration. So that means lots of CAKE!! :)

Have a fun weekend..

Thats awful about how Tiger Woods has to withdraw from most of this years tournaments because of a season ending knee injury. He was on a roll, he probably would have beat Jack Nicklaus very soon.

Anyone see that commercial with Sharpton and Pat Robertson. I wonder how much money did the producers may them to do that? Probably a lot.

I agree, Sharpton is like Al Gore, both want to stir up trouble over simple mundane things. Yet they both fit into the hypocrite category, because both of them dont practice what they Preach.

I am trying to rid of a lot of stuff we don’t need.

Janice your dress today was really pretty, I think that deep blue is a color that really compliments you! I also like shiny fabric!

A garage sale would be a awesome way to earn some more extra cash, maybe to offset those rising gas prices.
