I bought my first (and only) digital camera from the Home Shopping Network in July 1999. Cost: $119.00. It takes lousy photos, not what I expected.
I remember I took some a few weeks after I received it along the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Uncle Bob drove down to see me. He lives in Ojai (God’s Country). One of his grandson’s gave him a $25 gift certificate for Hooter’s. So we went to Hooter’s in Santa Monica — the first and only time for both of us. The food and the waitresses were only so-so. Unfortunately, so were the photos.
When I see all of the great digital photos your readers send in, Janice, I become so envious. Living in L.A., however, the weather is pretty constant.
Maybe someday I’ll buy a good digital camera and take photos. I prefer people shots, because expressions are what amuse me.
I just heard the reason why some of the levees broke in Missouri, its because of muskrats. Very unusual story indeed.
It reminds me of that classic song “Muskrat Love” :0

This scene reminds me of those endless CA highways featured on that classic cop show CHiPs.
