No rain on the radar at the moment…but very dark and thick cloud cover….
Things are gonna be slow at the farm today…
Have a nice afternoon at work jance….and enjoy the eats!!
Safe day to everyone else!
We have BBQ coming at 4p! Yippppeeee! Im starving right now!
Cloudy and warm here. Looks like we’ll get our annual Indepence Day “gully washer” here in D.C. before the end of the day. Hopefully it will clear before the fireworks and Margies concert at Wolf Trap.
Janice; Have a great day at work at what I’m sure will be a pretty empty Fox News studio. Maybe you can head over to the Brooklyn Diner for the massive hot dog they serve!
Have you ever eaten at that place? The food is great!
Markus Naslund is a Ranger now?……auggghhhh! And Wade Redden from the Sens is one also? Man did he take those Ranger owners for the dough! Have you ever joined the “blue seat goons” at MSG Janice? Somehow, I can’t imagine you hurling obscenities down at the ice.
Have never eaten there Don, but I hear it’s great too. We’re getting fed here at 4pm thank goodness! I’m hungry already! And yes, from D.C up to Boston we’re in for the chance of some “natural fireworks” in the sky tonight.
Happy Fourth everyone! I have to change my early day plans because I was going to do some work outside. However, I got up and checked the rain gauge and it’s already at .37 inches and it looks rather soggy out there. What a bummer! Hey Don, my Donna Summer concert is tomorrow but I think the forecast is the same. Hopefully in the evening it will be better. I saw her two years ago at Wolf Trap and there was a nasty storm before the concert and as we walked back to the car after the concert it started raining again. That was some of the worst rain I’ve ever driven in and it was at night and I was on unfamiliar roads. It was not a highway so there was no shoulder on which to pull off. I could hardly see where I was going but that didn’t stop the jerks from flying past me. Hopefully I won’t have to deal with that again!
My next door neighbor is coming over later for a cookout so I hope it’s not raining then. I’m not sure about the fireworks. If they have them, Linda and I will just watch them from my front porch. I certainly don’t want to be sitting on grass after so much rain. That would be highly unpleasant.
Janice, I hope things are quiet for you today. I hope you get your hamburgers and hot dogs!
Have a great day/weekend everyone!
Margie
Thanks Margie. Hope it doesn’t rain on your cookout! I’m looking forward to the BBQ at 4pm!
Hey Janice,
I get off of work here in about an hour and then it is off to do some fishin’ and grillin’. You can’t beat celebrating the 4th here in Alaska. It funny…the city fireworks are usually set off on the 5th o’ July at around 1230am or so…because of lack of darkness. And just for fun look up the Mt Marathon run in Seward, AK…it’s an annual run up a mountain that started out as a bar bet.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Sounds awesome David! I will look it up! There must be some very fit people who can start off at a bar and go running afterwards!
Janice!
Sorry you have to work but I know you will see some good fireworks tonight! My beans are done, I just have the ice cream to do.
Happy 4th Everyone!
Mmmmm home made ice cream! I am really hungry now!
JD…..
Even though you have to work. Have a happy 4th. Every TV station I have ever worked at on the 4th has had food for us.
It’s hot but beautiful here in Dener for the 4th. 95 and sunny today.
Have a great weekend everyone. We are having our Cherry Creek Arts festival starting today. It is the largest outdoor arts festival in the nation. It brings in about 750,000 people over three days. About 220 artists from all over the nation and great fireworks at night, entertainment booths, food and all.
Happy 4th.
Sunny
P.S. Just wanted to let everyone know that we really do sing the national anthem here in Denver, not the black national anthem like that lady tried to pull off on us the other day.
Have a great weekend! The Arts festival sounds fantastic!
Sunny….I heard about that with the National Anthem….What an outrage…and so incredibly disrespectful….that was neither the time nor the place…
Why cant people exercise some degree of respect….??
Happy 4th of July Everyone!
Enjoy the barbecue…
and the fireworks tonight!!!
(hoping it won’t rain)
Guillaume
Happy 4th to you Guillaume!
I will see what I can do getting rid of the rain!
Hey Sunny,
I heard about that National Anthem mess, too. People just don’t know how to behave themselves. If a person agrees to sing a song then they should sing it and use the opportunity to push their own agenda. That was not the place to do it.
The skies are brightening here but that’s just to tease us because there’s more rain out in Garrett County heading this way. We already have close to a half inch so I think that’s enough! I have a feeling we won’t have fireworks tonight, but we’ll see.
Have a great day everyone.
Margie
Hey Janice, I just caught you on the news. I won’t complain about the half inch of rain we’ve gotten today because I’m sure those poor folks in California would give anything for a little rain. It’s just hard to imagine so many fires going on at once. I have the utmost respect for firefighters–especially those that have to fight them out in the wilderness. It takes a special kind of person to do that.
Margie
It’s such a horrible situation out there. I can’t even imagine. Battling outdoor wildfires is so dangerous. I feel for those firefighters families…
Happy 4th everyone, but especially our Goddess JD
You too Luis! Thanks for checking in!

So I wanted to take the time to wish all my blog family a Happy 4th..Have a great day..eat well , be happy and enjoy the Fireworks!!
Deb
PS..Janice you look very beautiful today..enjoy your Fox Burgers and Dogs!!haha..
I wish I were at your place Deb!!
I guess we just had our first casualty of the CA wildfires, a volunteer firemen collapsed after performing his civic duty, and trying to prevent more damage. He should get the medal of honor for his services, not to mention his herotic acts.
Happy 4th of July to Janice and everyone here!
I hope you all take to time to reflect on our freedoms and count of blessings. And never forget we livei n the greatest land in world.
Maybe you can send us some of the hamburgers and hotdogs for all of us to feast on
I am always up for a good BBQ!
Take Care everyone.
Margie and Wenchie……
Yes that was quite the mess here. The thing that amazed me was that no one said anything and asked her to stop. I think everyone was dumbfounded.
As to why this happened…..when you raise a generation of people that are only worried about “their own self esteem,” they only care about themselves and not anyone else. They think they are more important than anything. I hate to tell them, that type of behavior makes them look small and petty.
Just another outgrowth of our liberal me stuff that pervades America today.
Sunny
Sunny;
You’ve got that right. It’s all about the “me” and their self esteem. Thats why we have a generation of morons…….but they feel GOOD about being morons!
Our day was so fun, it was hot but fun seeing the family. JD I hope you are watching fireworks by now, ours should be starting soon.
Janice,
Hope you enjoyed your BBQ.
One hour left to go at work and the weather behaved itself.
We had a great feast here, so much food delicious food!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their barbecues or whatever else you had going on. Cumberland’s fireworks were postponed because it rained all day. I’ll be at the Donna Summer concert on Saturday so I’ll miss the fireworks if they get them up then. Oh well, somehow I don’t think I’ll miss them because I’ll be enjoying the concert too much! I had a nice, slightly soggy cook out (and eat in) with my next door neighbor Linda and that was fun. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Margie
Happy to hear everyone had a good July 4th.
I had some hotdogs at a local BBQ that was raising money.
Plus while in the local supermarket some folks were there ahead of me in line said they were visiting Canada on the holiday, so I said loudly HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
Had to make them feel welcome.
Did anyone hear about this? It was on Americas Election HQ with Patti Ann Browne this afternoon. Apparently a lawsuit is forcing Google to turn over all YouTube personal user info to Viacom, or face a lawsuit. Luckilly i dont use that site, only to browse and watch videos. But i dont have an account there.
Did anyone happen to catch that Nathans hot dog eating competition? For the first time in history, the contest went into overtime. I dont know how those guys do it. I could never stuff myself and eat a whole bunch of food like that. A person could die from a shock to the heart.
Janice-
Maybe next year you can invite me and other regular bloggers here for a potluck at the FNC studios
Brad,
Personally, I think those food eating contests are pretty disgusting. I feel sick just watching them! One word comes to mind when I see that stuff–gluttony! I think some people need to get a life.
Margie
I realized I haven’t said a personal “hi” to Deb lately so I’m saying hi now! I hope you survived your family get together. Those things are a lot of work. I’m glad I had a quiet Fourth this year. I hope you managed to have some fun amidst all the work you had to do.
And I should say hi to Dawn, too. I hope you had a nice Fourth!
I don’t know how much time I’ll have to check the blog today since I have to get ready to see Donna Summer. It would be nice if she was close by but we have to travel 2 1/2 hours and have dinner in there somewhere. It will be fun. The last few days I’ve been breaking into a chorus of “She Works Hard for the Money” whenever the mood hits! I’m sure she’ll sing that song.
Well, I gotta go. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone.
Margie
Hey Margie..
Yes, I survived..we had alot of fun..but I am a little tierd today…and very slow going..
I can’t wait to hear about the fun you will be having at the concert tonite..I love Donna Summer..she has still got in going on!!
Be careful on your long drive..
Deb
I’m looking to the West here (the direction of Wolftrap). Either Margie and the group are getting rained on good or they are under umbrellas waiting for a storm to pass and the concert to get underway! I hope you stayed safe Margie!!
The only good thing i can think of that came out of that hot dog contest was that guy who won was from the US, and apparently its for the 2nd straight year in a row.
I cant help but wonder how these guys do it, i bet they are probably ruining their heart and arteries, and it probably wont show up until years later when they are older. Plus i usually dont like to eat too much of hot dogs and other greasy and fatty foods.
I guess i am considered to be a semi vegetarian, i eat mostly veggies and fruits, and the occasional fish and meat. But i try to limit that also.
On the Fox Report tonight they showed a pic of an active volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii that was still active. It looked pretty scary, but breathtaking up close.
