Tropical Storm Danny has formed this morning, and could become a hurricane this weekend as it possibly brushes the outer banks and then the northeast.  It’s still too early to tell, but unlike Bill, computer models don’t quite have a handle on where this storm will end up. Plus the fact that Danny is much closer to home.

Here’s the latest track and computer models.  Everyone across the eastern seaboard needs to be paying close attention to Danny’s progress over the next few days.

Forgive me for being a little “quiet” on the blog.  There’s a few things going on that’s got me busy–but I should have some time to say hello soon.   Thanks for talking amongst yourselves over the last few days!

Hey Don, You can't let yourself get scared because someone died from bladder cancer. For one thing, Dominick was 83 years old, which is much older than you. You don't know what type of bladder cancer he had or what stage the cancer was when they found it. There are way too many variables involved for you to get upset. So, your advice for the day (whether your want to hear it or not!) is to not think about what happened to Dominick Dunne. You have to believe that you are in good hands and that your treatment will be successful. I will be praying for you tomorrow as you get your next treatment. You are in good hands! Margie

Besides Ted Kennedy I see Dominick Dunne also died today of bladder cancer. That scares me.

Allen, Thanks! We'll see who braves the wind and rain to buy a hurricane book if Danny (not Bill!) hits us! Cheers, Tony

Hey Todd and Allen, Welcome to this friendly blog (and first time I've ever heard music from my computer when getting here!!!)! It looks like Bill will skirt the Tidewater area and maybe kick up some wind and rain just in time for my book-signing on Saturday at Barnes & Noble! I'll be lecturing about my book just in case anyone happens to be in Williamsburg tomorrow night at Colonial Williamsburg. It's a bit hot here but the humidity seems to be rather low (especially this morning), which is a relief. It looks as if the worst weather of summer may be behind us ~ thank goodness! Have a great day everyone. Tony

Afternoon everybody. Weather still remains about as perfect as you would want in the Mid-South. We have been blessed with not having the typical August heat and humidity. Yea!!!!!

Just came back from Fredericksburg...went there for's 96 here. The local station is saying we could get heavy rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 3.4" of rain we received the other day has caused the waterfalls on the James River to disappear. That's how high the river on the bottom side of the falls have risen. Margie, hope your feeling better. If you get many headaches you might try recording everything you eat and drink with the times you consume them. When you get a headache write that time down. Many years ago I did that exercise and found 18 hours after having tea I would get the headache. My dentist friend found 12 hours after onions he got one.

Hey Todd, Welcome to the blog! I hope you'll come back often to visit. We're a fun bunch! I'm sorry your family was hit hard by Katrina. That was one horrific storm. Keep alert for what's going on with Danny. Hopefully it won't be too bad, but it's always a good thing to be properly prepared. Hey Janice (and everyone else for that matter), I have a confession to make. For the past few months I've been trying hard to cut back on my ice cream and chocolate consumption and I've been doing pretty well. I did enjoy that great Hershey's chocolate ice cream on Monday. Well, today I've been feeling really lousy--those annoying sinus headaches are back yet again! I went to the cafeteria to get some ice for my iced tea and as I rounded the corner near the gift shop, those delicious Lindt dark chocolate truffles were calling my name! I gave in and bought a few of them and boy are they good! I don't know if they'll cure my headache, but my stomach sure is satisfied! I hope everyone is having a great day. I'm still working on cleaning out my libraries in preparation for the big move which is now only 87 days away. It's amazing what people can accumulate over the years! Today I'm in the library that I took over when the previous librarian retired so a lot of the junk I'm cleaning out was not mine. The health system formed in 1996 and I took over this library around 2000, or close to that time. My predecessors saved everything! Have a great day everyone! Margie

Hey David Love the name Vamco. Allison sounds like a smart girl. I'll bet she'll be talking up a storm in no time. Janice, I will be watching Danny very carefully. I still remember Hugo from 1989 and Katrina from 2005. My family on the MS Gulf Coast was especially hard hit by Katrina Todd Russell

Hey Janice, Weather up here is rainy and on the cool side. We have the remnants of Typhoon Vamco tracing across the Aleutians. These things usually only bring a lot of rain. But while they make their way across the Aleutians they bring some wind. This one only has winds forecasted up to 55kts. I will be watching Danny along with the rest of you. Allison love Elmo!!! She will say 'Melmo' and point to him. Its the cutest thing ever. Take care!

Hey Janice, This is my first time on the blog. Warm here in SC with temps in the 90s but the weekend promises to be a little bit cooler. Good afternoon to all the other bloggers out there. Todd Russell
