  • Major Snowstorm Taking Shape



    The snow began around 11am EST in the nation’s capital and is coming down steadily now.  Snowfall rates will increase through the evening hours and overnight.  By tomorrow evening, enough snow may be on the ground to rival if not break previous records for single snowstorms in both Washington, DC and Baltimore.   The Top 6 snowstorms for D.C. are listed below, which includes the big snowstorm that wrapped up 2009.  Baltimore’s all-time record is 28.2″   These are the official records, but there is an unofficial record of 36″ from January 1772.  It has been dubbed the Washington-Jefferson snowstorm because they both noted it in their diaries.
