Hi All. Hope some of you remember me . . . I haven't posted in about six months I think! I've been consumed with studying like a college student these days, something that doesn't come quite as easy in my late 40's as it did back then!! :) I'm studying art history in preparation for becoming a museum docent (tour guide). Also been busy helping a family member with a new baby (loving that) and supporting my husband who just retired from the Army and started his second career with homeland security. My son is 20 now (yikes) in college studying computer programming, still living at home until he gets a paid internship (soon please, he is SO messy!) I hope all of you are doing well. We are still in San Antonio, Texas, so no blizzards here. Hey, just occurred to me, a lot of you will probably see this since you are snowed in!! ;) Anyway, just wanted to say hello and reconnect with some of the nicest people on the internet :) Have a great day. Gina

Thanks for the link Margie. Chas took a quick look I like it. Gwen thanks for look for me I tried a pistachio one last night it was way to sweet also tried a snickers bar it was so hard I had to use the microwave then it was slush. This is my blog www.pjsrant.com as I said political and my views. Going to shovel now have about 6-8 inches a little windy.

Good Morning All, Snowing heavy here...around 3-4 inches right now....updates later.
Clare and A.J. DeYoung
Morning Everyone, Blogging ealy for me as I am on watch until our next Hospice nurse arrives in an hour, first time alone with my love since we came home from hospital Saturday night. My Dutchman is putting a royal battle and is having problem releasing me to begin his journey, but they said soon the body will help him do that. God Bless you all for ALL your prayers and loving thoughts of us, we have been so blessed with so many angels on our last adventure together and I wish I could share my Angels Among Us stories in this last week. Just get a bit of news when I turn on TV while I brush my teeth, just been playing our favorite hymns each day for him, but can you believe caught JD this morning in her beautiful winter white outfit and saw the mounds of snow they showed in DC, we had couple inches of rain yesterday and last night. Will try and keep you updated as I can, but as always he is dealing with this with grace and as always is my hero. Love you all, Clare and AJ

Mornin' friends! No snow here...but it is cold. 21 degrees at my house on the hill this morning. We're still getting predictions of snow for Thursday night and into Friday. I'll take a wait-and-see attitude on this one. Never seems to snow here when predicted. I would so love a snow day, thoug Dawn, I think we all blinked too long! Joni, I'm envious that you're sitting by that gorgeous fireplace looking out at the even more gorgeous NC mountains. I have kinfolk in Asheville and good friends in Gastonia. I guess other than MS, NC would be my next favorite place on the planet. Hope your cold is better...my bear is somewhat better now, even though he does still have a cough. PJ, I keep trying to remember my ice cream recipe. I can't think of all the ingredients off the top of my head. I'm going to have to dig through my recipes and post it. We do gallons of ice cream in the Summer. Margie, Hope you enjoy your day off. My friendly advice for the day: Stay inside and don't go out and shovel snow. Sit down, put your feet up, and have a cup of hot cocoa. That's the way to enjoy a snow day. To Don, Deb, JB, Ardith, Peter, George, Chas, David, Bill, Richard...and anybody else I forgot: Y'all have a great day and stay safe! Prayers for AJ and Clare. Gwen ;)

Deb, So sorry, I missed your post. It's nice to be back and especially nice to see you again. chas

OK, Seems to be working now. Blizzard going on here...lol chas
chas
pj, As Margie says you should be able to just click on my name. Not sure why it's not working, but here is the link. http://totherepublic.wordpress.com/ chas
Margie Gacki
Hey pjman, You just can click on chas' name in the header to go to his blog but for some reason, at least right now, it's not working. When I click it I just get the word press home page so something is acting up. That should be how you get to it. Hey everyone! I think we had more snow yesterday afternoon than we've gotten since that time. We might have gotten about 4-5 inches at the most. The wind is blowing, however. So far the high wind gust has been 34 mph at the airport and the temperature is 20. It appears WeatherBug got stuck but the wind chill is in the single digits or lower--brrrrrrr! I'm glad I didn't go to work today so I don't have to worry about snow drifts. Thankfully we didn't get the 8-12 inches they predicted. We might have gotten half that much. The snow is really blowing because on my front porch, which is about 6 feet deep, the snow has blown all the way back to my front door. Some of that might be coming in from the side, though. Either way, I have snow on my porch. Have a great day, everyone, and stay warm! Margie
Joni
I knew I liked you PJMan! LOL

Hi all snow in N.J. about 4-5 inches some wind . The town has called off all trash pick up, no school and can't park on the street. No plows have come by yet. Joni not a Who fan either. Chas I've only been here awhile so I don't know about your blog could you please send a link. I have a blog too mine is very political and my views of how the world is going. It is just a place for me to rant. Hope all stay safe and warm I will check in from time to time to keep everybody up to date and see how everybody is doing.
Joni
Morning everyone ... it is blowing like crazy here! And we have about the same 2" as Don. another similar problem... as Don, our wind gauge is frozen as last night. We have 9 degrees at 9am. Anxious to hear what folks like Miss Margie are measuring up for snowfall today! Stay warm everyone, and if you are already in a warm area...overnight some warm temps to your frozen blogger friends! Joni
Don in Richmond
We only have about 2" this morning of wet snow and suppose to stop by noon. The winds are so strong the snow is now sideways. My wind gauge is frozen again. NOAA claim we will have up to 28mph winds with gusts to 41mph
chas
Hi Margie, Nice that you remember me. I did miss the niceness of this blog. I tried to make Ms Aly's a nicer place for a few weeks, but there is a limit to what I can do since I don't work for Fox. In any event, snow has finally started to fall and the local News is all a tither. You'd think they never saw a little snow before. They either closed or delayed opening everything down here including the Naval Air Base. As I said I have been spending a lot of time researching various topics, some for my own education but mostly for my blog. I know we don't do politics here, but I will just say I've become increasingly alarmed over the last decade or more about the disregard for the Constitution by both Parties. So if that interest you, my blog is an OK place to check out. That should be enough to have about half of you nod off. ;) chas

Look forward to seeing your new blog, Janice! Margie is right about Greta's blog. I use to blog there all the time. Now I rarely do! I don't like it all! Your buddy! George in wet, wet Los Angeles

Hi Ardith, We enjoy having you on the blog even though you don't post very often. I love it when Janice shares about her family, too. That's what makes this blog special. And one more thing--please send some Florida sunshine up north! Even if you don't have sun, I'll be happy with warmer temperatures! What's cold to you would feel wonderful up here! Thanks for chiming in this evening. This is a great thread. Margie
