  • Holy snow, Batman!

Ok, I’m going to be the first to say yesterday we didn’t think Central Park would be close to 18 inches by now.  And though I was hoping for some of the rain to cut back on the snow totals in my neighborhood, I woke up to many inches on my doorstep trying to head to work.  The train was over half an hour delayed,  so it was a bit of a stress heading in.  My hubby is home with my peanut today and I think he’s bribed some of the neighborhood gals to come over on their snow day to hang out with Matthew while he shovels!

Here are some of the snow totals as of 10am eastern time:

This storm is sooooo impressive on radar.  It is a monster, and unfortunately is going to hang around here in the  Northeast for the next 24 to 48 hours.  We won’t see the blockbuster totals that we saw overnight, but there’s the possibility for several more inches on top of the crazy totals.  The winds should taper off, so that will help a little bit.  This storm is already a killer with a death in Central Park from a falling tree limb to accidents on the roads.  If you don’t absolutely have to be out on the streets, just stay indoors.

I got some of the folks around Fox to send me a few pics from their backyard so I could share them with you.

Here’s Steve Doocy’s backyard in Jersey (his lovely wife Mrs. Doocy took the picture)

And Fox and Friends Technical Producer extraordinaire Don Presutti in these pictures from  Marlboro NY:

In other news,  I must comment on the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team who are taking some heat for sneaking back into the rink to have a couple of cigars and some beers after their Olympic win last night.  Do you think we’d be hearing such a flap if it was the Men’s Team?  I say “you go Girls!”  Smoke em if you got em!  Back in the day, I used to smoke and drink on skating rinks every weekend!  LOL!  Look, maybe it wasn’t the smartest thing to do, and ok, maybe it should’ve been in the locker room instead,  but they just won gold medals!  Let them have a moment…

    From the AP:

Canada’s Haley Irwin (21) and Meghan Agosta (2) celebrate with cigars after Canada beat USA 2-0 to win the women’s gold medal ice hockey game at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010.

That’s all for now!  Have a great weekend everyone!

The Canadian women are young, talented, beautiful and won the GOLD. Let them have there day in the sun. What is the big with a little beer and some cigars to celebrate? No snow here in Florida at least not yet. Coldest winter here in years.

Hey Janice and all, The sun was actually trying to come out a little while ago. It made a brief appearance and then disappeared but it is bright outside. We just had a few snow squalls this morning but nothing that amounted to anything. I'm just glad I don't live in Garrett County because it sounds like they're having a rough time. I hope all those in the grip of this storm stay safe and warm this weekend. Don't go out if you don't have to! I hope everyone has a great weekend! Margie

JD, I hope and pray that those in the center of the big snow storm stay safe and warm. I hate hearing about power outages in those areas that make a bad situation much worse. I bet Sean doesn't have to bribe the ladies too much to watch a charmer like Matthew. Margie and PJ, thanks for the photos. I enjoy putting a face with the bloggers in here. I would send one of mine, but hate to spoil anyone's appetite. It could be a good cure for hiccups though. I agree that the Canadian's women's team should not be criticized for their celebrating the gold medal win. They deserve a lot of credit and those small minded P.C. folks should just put a lid on it. May all have a safe weekend. JB

Hi I agree nothing wrong with the Canadian team, I think the world has gone to far with this PC crap. snow is all I have. It's still snowing not a lot of wind right now.

We didn't get any snow but we sure have winds. 45mph gusts even. Long range is saying we might get nailed with a storm on Wednesday of at least a foot like the one we received in January. I saw nothing wrong with the Canadian hockey team celebrating.
