  • Beautiful spring pics from Gwen and Margie!

    Hi everyone!

Well, it’s been pretty quiet in the weather department this week, which I’m thankful for.  A storm across the west could bring us the threat for severe weather later this week across parts of the central U.S, so we’ll have to keep an eye on the progress of the system.   The volcano in Iceland is still a lead story in the news, and it appears that UK travel should slowly start to resume this week as the upper level winds start to co-operate.  It’s still impossible to say when the volcano will calm down, but hopefully those hundreds of thousands of travellers will begin to slowly but surely get back home in the next few days.   I can’t imagine how hard its been for these poor folks who are at the mercy of mother nature!

I am struggling to keep my eyes open this morning since little Matthew was up a lot last night.  My little man is getting his molars in, and is clearly uncomfortable and grumpy.  I feel so bad for him.  I was just glad to give him extra hugs in the middle of the night…

Meanwhile, I just checked my inbox, and low and behold Gwen and Margie have sent in some lovely spring pics from their ‘hoods!

Enjoy!  I’m off to get a fancy coffee!

Here are the pictures from Margie:

I will post Gwen’s pics in the next post!

Beautiful pictures Margie! Very sad news today, I had 2 family members pass away today. My aunt who lives in Ohio, passed after being in a coma for a month, from injuries recieved from a tragic freak accident at her daughter's home. My uncle passed after an extended illness. The last time I saw my aunt was over 25 years ago. She was a loner and isolated herself from her family and even her children. That was the first visit to her daughter's home, and she had lived there for 7 years. It's so sad

Nice pictures. Tomorrow I'll be going for blood work. Have a follow up appointment next Tuesday in Baltimore. Glad it wasn't today. Don't think I would have made it. Was not a good day. This is the first I'm out of bed.

Hey Gwen (and all), The first two pictures are cherry trees in downtown Cumberland. The next picture is of a dogwood (I think) that's outside the building where I work. The last two pictures are of redbuds that are along the scenic route I took home from my parents' on Sunday. Those trees are everywhere around here! I thought I sent another picture of some trees on a cliff (maybe I forgot), which turned out great. I'll have to e-mail that one to you. I'm out of space already! Margie

Lovely pictures, Margie. Tell us what we're looking at here. Some look like cherry trees, some redbuds. I'm not too sure by looking at the pictures. So give us a little info on them please. JD--If it will do any good, I'll resend mine. Just let me know if I need to. Gwen :)

Hey Janice, I'm sorry that your little man is having a rough time. I'll send up some extra prayers for him. I know it's hard on you to see him struggle, so I'll pray for you, too! I do hope you can stay awake today. I'd hate to see you sleeping during your weather hit--HA! Well, I don't know where the sun went to. It was nice and clear earlier this morning but now it's overcast. We do have rain in the forecast for tomorrow but it's supposed to be sunny today--go figure! Have a great day! Margie
