  • OFF TO LOST WAGES!

    Hello everyone

Well, I’m off for an extra extra long weekend!  A couple of girlfriends and I are heading to Las Vegas tomorrow for the next few days.  Eeek!  It’s a birthday celebration for myself (which is next weekend) and my friend Karen who is coming in from Houston.  My best friend Neera from Ottawa is also meeting us there, so it will be the three amigos!   I’m going to miss my little Matthew terribly, but I know he’ll be fine with my hubby who has lots of help lined up!   I just hope he’ll forgive his mommy for leaving him for a few days.

I hope you all have a great weekend…will check back in next week with some G-rated pictures from the trip!  HAHA!

Hey AJ and Deb, I painted my bedroom La Fonda Fiesta Blue--a Valspar paint color. It's listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation so I thought it would be a good color to use in my old house! I think it looks beautiful. I got the rest of my furniture moved back this evening so there's more room to walk. I still have a lot to put away but it's getting there. AJ, Don has lost about 40 lbs. during this ordeal. He'll be addressing that with the docs at Johns Hopkins next week. Margie

Hey folks, I notice this blog is really slow in posting the messages today. I don't know what's up with that. Anyway, I have an update on Don. I just spoke with him & he said that almost all his electrolyte numbers are back to normal & he may be able to go home tomorrow. He does not have an ulcer. They biopsied something they found but it was not cancerous, thank God. He has a headache but hopefully that will go away soon. I'll keep everyone posted if he goes home tomorrow. Margie

Hey Everybody, Great weather the past couple of days. Very warm! I really feel bad for the ppl in Nashville and surrounding areas, they really got hit hard. Parts of the city is still flooded, and so many communities are underwater. Most have no flood insurance, so they will be waiting for Gov. assistance. That might take awhile. AJ, hope you get your puter problems resolved soon. Margie, what color did you paint your bedroom? PJ, hope all is well with you and yours. Prayers for Don, as always.

Hey PJ, I hope you didn't get too wet from all that rain that was up your way over the weekend & into yesterday. I think you got more than we did. Thanks for the update on AJ. I hope she gets her computer problems cleared up soon. It's hard to be without a computer when you use one a lot & then are suddenly without it. Hey to everyone else out there--if there is anyone else out there. The blog has been quiet the past couple days so I hope things pick up a little. Have a great afternoon! Margie

This blog has been way too quiet today. I don't know if there's anyone out there but I thought I'd give a brief update on Don. I found a message from him on my answering machine when I got home from work. Things are slowly getting back to normal as far as his electrolytes & things and that's good news. He has a little bleeding problem with the wound vac so they're working on that. If his numbers keep getting better then his kidneys will get functioning normally soon. I'll keep you posted. Margie

Hey AJ, my body hurts enough from painting just one room so I don't know how helpful I'd be to you! I do enjoy painting but doing it all by myself was rough. It would have been nice to have someone help me move my furniture around. I'm all tired out and my body aches, but my room looks great! Happy Monday to everyone else out there. It's soggy & humid in Cumberland. We got an inch of rain yesterday & close to a half inch overnight so things are soggy. Have a great day, all. Margie

Hi guys! It's been raining here today, too, but nothing severe. Also, we're not experiencing the flooding issues like TN. Deb, hope you've been able to stay dry. We have friends in Nashville, but haven't talked with them. I'm hoping they're okay. I've spent most of the afternoon watching grandkids after church. Their mom (the dance teacher) is preparing for her end-of-year recital in 3 weeks, so I'm on granny duty. Their dad works nights, so he's got to sleep a bit on Sunday afternoon...

Update, The Governor just gave a news conference, he said 8 deaths have been confirmed. 2 tornadoes confirmed, and massive flooding, and it's still raining. I had to turn the coverage off for awhile, it's starting to get me. Watching Lifetime now...but it's a sad movie. I may have to hit the Cartoon Channel! Margie, I agree about the ppl that think their cars are boats....it's just plain dumb. We are still under a severe storm watch....gosh I hope this is over soon. I am a nervous wreck! Deb

Hey Deb, I'm glad you're safe. I was looking at the radar yesterday and it looked like there was a mess all over the place down your way. With the way the radar looked, I'm not surprised there is major flooding. I hope things settle down today. It's awful when people lose their lives in storms like this. I don't know how the people were killed in your area, but what gets me are those people who think they can drive through flooded roads & wind up getting swept away. That's so preventable. Margie

Wow, what a weather weekend! Thankfully, we haven't had anything too severe.(yet), but to the west of here, there has been major flooding and property damage. I haven't heard of the fatality count, but I know they said last night, there were several. We are still under a watch, and it's humid and dreay. It is very hearbreaking watching the news coverage of all the devastation...part of I-24 is still underwater..it's looks like a river. Hope y'all have had a sunny and dry weekend. Take care Deb
