Hey PJ and Don, thanks for taking the time to check out my exhibit. I hope it helped you think cool thoughts! Don, I can't picture a duck up in a tree. That must have been interesting. We had some heavy rain a little while ago that cooled the temperature off a little. I'm not sure how steamy it is though. I'm going out in a little bit so I'll find out. Have a great afternoon, all! Margie

Just witnessed something I would have not believed. Picture a mallard ducks feet. They are basically paddles. One flew up from the pond and sat on a tree branch 30' up. Couldn't get over that. Margie, your special exhibit is really nice.

Jana, there are some things in life I wouldn't want to win at and the most 100+ days is one of them! I live in Maryland and 3 days in a row of 100+ was enough for me! My heart goes out to all those who have those kinds of temperatures constantly. I do hope you folks get some relief soon. Take care and be safe out there! Margie
Jana
I know its hot out but i wanted to point something out. Yall said dallas texas had 20 something 100+ days, but Abilene texas which is 3 1/2 hours west of dallas is hitting day 46 of 100+ degree heat. I think abilene wins ;)

Happy Monday all. 86 right now going up to 104. That will be 25 days in a row and 31 for the year. Oh Summers in TX. Hope all had a great weekend. Margie I looked at the site it is great. Be safe and cool all. PJ

Hey folks, we only got up to 97 today. We had 3 days of 100+ temps. I think there have only been 5 days this month with a temperature less than 90. If you're tired of the heat & need something to cool you off, I posted some nice refreshing pictures on my web site. If you're interested, you can check them out at www.faithproductionsofcumberland.com/SpecialExhibit.php (make sure you copy the whole URL if it gets divided into 2 lines when I post this) Where are you Janice? Take care, all. Margie

Hoping the heatwave will break soon!!! I just started a new business that can save people money on their energy bills. I watched last week how energy efficient appliances can help. What if I told you I can show you a way to potentially reduced your energy bills by 40%, while earning travel rewards? If you live in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois or Texas let me know if you are interested. Have a great night!!!

Hey Don, I'm with you. Our dew points have been in the upper 70's with the temperatures 100+. It's 96 now but thankfully the dew point is "only" 69. The highest heat index I saw was 114 when it was 103 out. Arizona is supposed to have temps like that. Minnesota and the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic aren't. That's why it's news in this part of the country. I saw Wilmington, DE had a heat index of 124 the other day--that's news! Stay cool everyone! Margie

Karen, I'll take a dew point of 60 any day of the week. We had dew points of 80 to 85n this past week along with temps over 100

Its cooling down in Yuma today--only 106! I wish when you are doing the weather, you would remember the hottest part of the nation (at least the last I looked we hadn't left the US) has been over 100 for at least two months--mostly reaching 110+ during the month of July--yet when you give your weather--you never even mention Arizona--right now it is NOT a dry heat--we are in Monsoon season-humidity 61 and dew point 60--

Good morning all. Hope the weekend has been good so far. It is 84 going up to 104 today. Still trying to figure out this head bobbing with our dog. Margie good luck on your first day of work. Don love all the facts. Hope all have a good cool day. Be safe. PJ

You guys are getting not accurate info re temps in Phoenix from your weather sources. The reported temp from NOAA in Phoenix has always been at the airport, Sky Harbor, in the shade. Wanna know where it's hot?...the City of Phoenix IN THE SUN ! Right now at 3:30PM MST it is 130 F IN THE SUN. And that's w/o a heat index. 103 in Dallas...we'll take it in a minute! Chow.

As hot as it was yesterday and as it will be today, Richmond was hotter in 1930 and 1952. Without AC it must have been horrible. Of course I've always wondered how the civil war was fought in the uniforms back then.

Hi guys, with all the weather talk and heat indexes haven't been on the blog, as with our weather any thing I would say would sound like bragging.........so can just hope that soon you will all be more comfortable and for you to be safe and don't get heatstroke, it can happen quickly happened to me once when we lived in Vero Beach Florida and was watching a 4th of July parade...and have a wonderful weekend.AJ

Hey guys! Haven't been able to check in for a couple of days. Computer issues at work. Margie! That is GREAT news! So good to hear it. They are very blessed to have found such a gem as you! I almost hate to tell some of you that it's been in 80s here all week. Yesterday only got to 81. We've had lovely off-and-on showers that have kept out heat down. I do know how you feel, though, as we are usually baking around 100 + humidity this time of year. Y'all stay cool...if possible! Gwen :)

Thanks Margie for the lite reading . Ha ha Don I did goggle it. This is bad stuff. Don what do you use on Rolex ? Thanks for the help all, I knew this would be were to go to find some answers. It is 103 right now and HOT HOT HOT!! My dog Sherlock runs outside to do his business and runs back inside for the AC. The electric company has no excuses to raise rates this year. Stay safe and cool all. Thanks again for the information. PJ

I feel sorry for everyone who is sweltering in the intense heat and humidity. When I lived in Chicago, my apartment building was right across from Lincoln Park, where I caught my bus to work every morning. Fresh from the shower and in a clean suit, I usually waited five or ten minutes for a bus, then entered an inferno guaranteed to make me sweat like crazy by the time I got to work! ... It's great to be back, Weather Machiners! I hope everyone is OK! I have missed you!
DoninRichmond
Just walked Rolex. Never walked in a steam bath before.

Hey Dawn, good to see you on the blog! Isn't this weather lovely? Our heat index is now at 104. The dew point is 75. I just went outside to get my mail & it was like walking into a sauna. I think I'll stay inside! Margie
Wenchie
