    Here comes Fall!

    Good morning everyone!

    Hope you’re all doing well.   I have a little good news in the weather department these days!   No new storms in the tropics (Maria will stay away from the U.S. and Bermuda) and Dallas will see some (relatively) cooler weather in their forecast!  Yesterday was a record setting day in the Big D as they had their 70th day of 100 degree weather.   A cold front will drop those temperatures at least by 10 degrees in the next day or so:

    Unfortunately, we don’t see any significant rain in Texas over the next week or so, which means the extraordinary drought continues.

    Across the Upper Midwest, a MAJOR cool-down is on the way with the chance of record setting lows tonight!  Freeze warnings are up:

    I must admit, I am looking forward to some cooler temperatures.   Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.  I had a pumpkin spice latte this morning just to celebrate!

Hey Don, that's funny! I do the oppposite. If I have my cordless phone next to my computer, sometimes I'll pick that up to change the channel on my TV. They are about the same size, so I don't always realize it and I wonder why I can't find the right button! Margie

Funny story. Yesterday I was naping when the phone rang. Kept hitting every button saying HELLO, HELLO, HELLO. Took me a while to realize I was tring to answer the phone with the TV remote.

Hey Don, we beat that temperature with a low of 40--brrrrrrrrrrr! I just turned my space heater on and I might have to turn on the heat tonight since it's going to be in the mid 40's tonight. I'm cold! Margie

PJ, the cool front you had must not have come south enough to be a big factor here. High today was 96. Rain was nearby but we didn't get any yet. A very Happy Birthday wish to John. 92 is great! Have a great celebration, sir! May all have a great weekend. JB

Spuds are all dug, cauliflower and broccoli done. Brussels sprouts plumping up and my ever bearing raspberries have kicked into high gear. Salmon have started up the river behind the house but we need some rain to get them really going. Everyone have a good fall!

Yikes. Our neighboring states to the North of us are going to have a freeze? Come on, isn't that a bit too early? Oh well, whatever Janice says, must go! :) We too, are experiencing cooler temps today and for the next few days..like in the 60's, and that is so nice. Birthday blessings to my husband, John, who celebrates his 92nd year this Friday, the 16th. God is good. Audrey and John, too

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL! Well...it's almost Fall. It has been cooler here for the past several days. I'll take 80s over 90s any day of the week. We actually had 1 day with a low of 49. So nice! Been really busy...we're manning up for a new project. Did new-hire orientation for about 30 new guys in the past week. Hiring and laying off create mounds of paperwork...which I have to deal with. Not complaining. I love my job! Wow, Don, a high of 60! Gotta love it! Catch y'all later! Gwen :)
