Hey everyone, I have some news about Don for you. I just got home from work/shopping & found a message from Don on my answering machine. He was calling from the ER saying that they're going to keep him at least overnight & it has something to do with his heart. That's all he said but he said he'd keep me posted so I'll let you know when I hear anything else. Let's keep him in our prayers. Now I have to get something to eat. After reading Gwen's post, my mouth is watering! Take care, all. Margie

Busy few days, so I didn't get to check in. Hope all had a wonderful holiday. Ours was great. JD, since you asked, T'giving menu was standard Southern fare: Smoked turkey & Boston butt, cornbread dressing (not stuffing), potato salad, roasted potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, butterbeans (not limas), black-eyed peas, cranberry sauce, rolls, MS mud cake, pecan pie, & pecan pie cake. I did all but the meat (hubby did those), rolls & cranberry sauce (canned). Gwen :)

I folks, just thought I'd post something to cover up the spam. I hope everyone has recovered from Thanksgiving. Thankfully, my food coma didn't last too long! It's less than a week until my silent auction fundraiser and I'm getting a little anxious. I think it will all come together, though. I hope everyone has a great week ahead! Margie

Hey everyone, I'm back from visiting my parents for the holiday weekend. I had a great time & got to see my brother & his family, as well as lots of cousins. Joni, it's good to see you back on the blog. I've been doing things to help my parents but I only have an hour & half to drive to their place. Going across the country must be tiring. I hope your mom is doing ok. The long range forecast for my silent auction on Sat. looks good--I hope it stays that way. Have a great, afternoon, all. Margie
Joni
Good Sunday to all. Thanks for the nice comments of well wishing for my mom. Today is cloudy, still in the 50's but we are going to get hit hard with rain in the Blue Ridge tomorrow (mon) and then falling temps all week! lite snow!! Going to get the outdoor Christmas lights all finished up today...( :

Janice, Bill does a great impression of James Carville. If you want a good laugh get him to do it for you.

The show was great. Miller started with 30 minutes of standup then Bill for 30 minutes and then both of them about an hour. I'd say 99% of the audience was 65 and over. Dennis had you laughing non stop yet Bill had the beat line, "when the BP oil well broke they should have lowered Joy Behar down over it. Her mouth could have stopped the leak instantly" They both had great lines about the republicans who are running for president.

Safe traveling to all for the holiday. Hope each one of you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. Weather here today was gloomy and rainy, but Thanksgiving is suppose to give us a more pleasant picture of sun and warmer temps. So enjoy your time everyone and don't eat too much turkey! Audrey

Hey Everyone, it's a cold, wet day here in Cumberland. It's 46 degrees & we've gotten over a half inch of rain today. I want to thank everyone again for the wishes for my mom. I will share them with her tomorrow. You're a great bunch of friends & I appreciate you all very much. Dawn, I hope things have settled down up there in CT. I know the weather's been pretty crazy so I hope things have calmed down. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Take care, all. Margie
Gwen
Afternoon guys. Raining here today...nothing heavy or severe...just a gloomy, rainy day. But it's much needed, so I'm thankful. Thanksgiving Dinner is at my house again this year. Melanie will still be in NYC, but the rest of our gang will be present...12 total, including 5 grands. I have much cooking to do. This will be only the 2nd year that I've done the "whole" Thanksgiving meal by myself. I wish y'all a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for each of my blogging friends. :)
