    Early Southern Snow...and family pics!

    Hello everyone!

    Well, snowflakes flew as far south as Tupelo, Mississippi yesterday, and while this isn’t unprecedented, it is rare to see snow this far south this early.  Here are some of the southern snow totals:

    Rain across the Southeast has also been heavy, with some spots seeing 2-5″

    Ahead of the system, another mild day for the eastern third of the country.  Yesterday NYC had a daily record high of 70 degrees!   Temperatures will be close to average by the end of the week.

    The system will also bring snow to the eastern Great Lakes:

    The rest of the country is relatively quiet, but things are still unsettled across the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies today and tonight.

    Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We had a great time in the Poconos.   Temperatures were unseasonably warm (which was very nice for outdoor activities!)  Here are a couple of pictures from the trip!  JD

Hey guys. Don, glad you're back with us. I do hope your heart valve problem is not too serious. Let us know. We'll all be praying for you. AJ, not many leftovers...maybe a few bites of turkey and some green bean casserole. I do believe it's time to throw that out. Note to self for next time: Double the sweet potato casserole and half the green bean casserole. Beautiful, chilly day here in MySouth. Upper 20s this AM and low 50s in the PM. Lovely blue, clear skies! Gotta love it! :)

Thank you JD for those great pictures, I just loved the waterfall one, great shot and of course my favorites always the 4 of you, boys are sure growing fast, Teddy looks like Mom to my eyes, Matthew getting so big, looked like a lovely place to be for family time at Thanksgiving..AJ

Great pictures JD. Looks like you had a nice time with your family in the Poconos. Beautiful countryside. We had cool temps today with winds around 40 miles an hour. Yikes. Hang on to your hat! Family members from Indianapolis called and said they had 5 plus inches of snow today. Now that's getting too close..just 2 hours away. I can wait. Audrey

JD, lovely little family you have there! Such cute boys! Oh yeah, the parents are nice too! We've had 2 cold & dreary days. Low 30s to low 40s for temps. No snow...just a small (maybe an inch) of rain. Wasam, we're about the same temps as you! Hard to believe. Of course, we've all got Don in our thoughts and prayers. Good morning! No rain today, 40 degrees, fog has lifted and there is just a hint of a sun up there above the clouds. Made a tour of the yard and still have 2 little rose buds opening up. They will be the last until next year. Thanks to all who have submitted the great photos of your area and fall colors. Isn't America beautiful!!
