    Christmas Wishes

    Hi everyone

    It’s been a busy one in the weather center the last few days.  The southwest blizzard is now winding down after bringing over a foot of snow, winds of 50 mph and 4-5 foot snow drifts!  Unfortunately we had several deaths blamed on the dangerous weather yesterday and today.

    After this system departs, we’re going to watch a new storm moving into the Rockies. 

    Part of that energy could hook up with a developing low off the southeast coast Friday which *might* bring a white Christmas to parts of the Northeast!  Interior sections certainly could see some accumulating snow, and one of the forecast models shows a pretty big storm that might even bring snowflakes to coastal sections of the Midatlantic/Northeast on Christmas Day!  We’ll be watching things closely over the next few days:

    Tomorrow’s my last day, and then I’m taking the rest of the week and next week off.  Time to recharge the batteries and spend some time with family and friends before the end of the year!   My mom and brother are coming in from Canada to spend Christmas with us.  I can’t believe Matthew is going to be 3 in a month and Theodore is almost 11 months now.  Time sure does fly…

    And I must admit some of the pictures came out pretty well!

    I also ran across this picture I think I posted a few years back.  This is me – probably about 5 years old getting a present from Santa.  Funny, when I last looked at this picture I didn’t have kids.   When I look now, I see Matthew and Theodore in my face.  It brings tears to my eyes. 

    I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.  Make sure you hug those you love tightly.   Say an extra prayer to those who aren’t as fortunate as us this year.   I wish all of you good health, happiness and laughter this year ahead.

Yes, Margie thanks for the update on Don's son, like JB said to all our bloggers we all care and pray for one another..it seems each of us anymore are untouched with health issues and thank you our soldiers who kept us safe at home again this year and to JD for keeping our blog going so we can all stay connected throughout the year....I pray that at the end of 2012 we will all be here saying it was a good year.............AJ

Thanks for the update on Don's son, Margie. I want to wish all the friends in here a very Happy New Year and hope that 2012 is a very healthy and prosperous year. I hope that all those in here who have had health problems and with family members can take some solace and peace knowing that we are all praying and keeping good thoughts for them. Hey folks, I just talked to Don on the phone. His son has Hodgkin's disease & he's getting chemo. Obviously, it's not good getting any kind of cancer, but Hodgkin's disease is a lot easier to treat than non-Hodgkin's lymphoma so that's a good thing. They caught it early so it will be easier to treat. At least his son got an accurate diagnosis quickly so the prognosis is good. As far as the weather goes here, it's cloudy. Highs for Tues will only be in the 20's--brr! Have a great day, all! Margie

December is going down as one of the top ten warmest ever since records have been kept. Sunday we expect a high of 67. Monday a front will pass us and Tuesday and for the rest of the week, artic air is expected. Happy New Years to everyone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.Back home after a very busy week.Family cele brations was very fun.5 days in Keller,Texas.While there saw the movie Sherlock Holmes, Great movie,go see it if you have a chance. Amanada is doing well,and so is baby.Some bed rest for the duration. Prays for the next weeks,that everything goes well.Weather here is in the 60's,but will change after the new year.Everyone stay safe and have glorious and properous New Year,see you in2012,WOW,Dolores

Hi everyone. It's been a cold, windy day here in Cumberland. We only got up to about 39 degrees with 30+ mph wind gusts. It's too bad the wind can't blow all the spam off the blog. It's hard to believe the year is almost over. Where did the time go??? I only have a few more days off work & then it's time to start back up next week. It's been nice having the time off. Hey everyone. I just got done making a bunch of Christmas cookies & I'm tired. I know the calendar says that Christmas is coming but no one told the weather. Although, I won't complain because we don't have to worry about snow during holiday travel. It only got up to 49 today. It was 59 yesterday & about the same the day before. We've had a couple days in the 60's recently so it doesn't feel like December. I want to wish every a safe and merry Christmas. Have a great weekend, everyone! Margie
