    Midwest Blizzard

    Good morning everyone!

    We’ve got a nasty winter storm developing across the  Northern Plains, Upper Midwest and Great Lakes through Wednesday.   A system from the Central Rockies will crank up through the day and bring with it ice, snow and wind.   Over a foot of snow is expected from the Dakotas through Minnesota.  Winter Storm Warnings are up from Wyoming to Michigan.  Blizzard Warnings are in effect for southeastern North Dakota, northeastern South Dakota and central Minnesota. 

    We could also see some severe weather over a big chunk of the Plains and Midwest.  The greatest chance for large hail, damaging winds and  tornadoes will extend from eastern Oklahoma through Arkansas and into eastern Tennessee and Kentucky.  Some of these storms could last through the overnight and into tomorrow morning.   If you live in any of these states, please be careful – and keep those NOAA weather radios on tonight!

    Tomorrow the system will impact the Great Lakes and the Northeast while some severe storms could pop up across the Ohio Valley into the Southeast. 

    Across the West, another system will dive into the Northwest and California tonight and Wednesday.   A foot of new snow will pile up across the Cascades and into the Sierra Nevada range.

    So that’s the latest in weather land.  Thought I would post a picture of Matthew at his very first visit to the dentist!  He did GREAT!  Mama was very proud of him.

Over 275,000 homes without power here. hospitals used as shelters. National Guard Armory in Cheboygan, Michigan used for shelter. Hi Richard. Good to hear from you after all this time. Hello to the rest of y'all too! Glad nothing severe in OK, Dolores. So sorry to hear of damage and loss of life in other parts of the Midwest. We had planned to take our camper to Okatibbee Lake for the next couple of weeks. Heavy rain yesterday kept us from doing that. Maybe tomorrow...we'll see. Have to keep a watch on the weather. Hi, Janice and the Weather Machine Gang! Matthew looks cute in his shades in the Dentist chair! He is braver than I am! I was watching you on Fox News a little while ago. It's always comforting to see you, Janice, and especially when the weather is so bad in the Midwest and in my home state, Illinois. I remember standing on Michigan Avenue in Chicago waiting for the bus when the temp was about -20 degrees and the windchill factor was about -70. Those were cold, cold days!

Hey to everyone,Not too much storm damage here in OK.Edmond got only a little rain,lots of wind,50 to 60 miles an hour.Temp today in the 70's.I guess spring is here.Wonder what the summer is going to be like?The Bradford Pears are sprouting leaves.Hope all are doing well.Wish JD would respond to my question about how she got interested in weather.Just courious.Take care,Dolores

Raindrops keep falling on my head--that's the theme song for today! We got over 3/4" of rain so far but it does look like the bulk of the rain is moving out. What a yucky day! I hope all my blogging buddies are safe & dry. I've been feeling better the past couple days. I'm thankful the headaches are gone & all I have left is some congestion. Have a great day, all! Margie
