  • APRIL FLOWERS!

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend!   Ours was pretty quiet.   Plenty of time in the backyard playing.  The weather here has been cool, but beautiful.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted pictures.  These were taken around Easter.  Grandma was visiting from Canada, and we went to the New York Botanical Gardens for the Orchid Show.   My favorite flower, I think!

Hope you’re all having a GREAT Monday!

  • Moderate Risk for severe weather tonight

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

Good morning everyone!  Happy Friday!   Just watching the Shuttle Enterprise landing at JFK.  What an amazing sight!    Laura Ingle interviewed Leonard Nimoy which was extra cool as well.

Just a heads up today if you live across the Central Plains – we have a “moderate” risk for severe weather across Eastern KS and Western MO later this afternoon/tonight.  Some of the larger cities like Kansas City, Wichita, Joplin, Salina aren’t in the bullseye, but are close enough to be threatened:

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  Hug the ones you love!

  • Record highs and risk for strong storms....

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Hello everyone!

Happy Hump Day!  Can’t believe it’s almost Wednesday.  Even more crazy:  next week it’s MAY!   My little Theodore is walking more and more everyday.  So proud of him!

In weather news, we broke many records yesterday across the Central U.S. yesterday.

The heat is going to subside today and tomorrow bringing back more seasonal temperatures…

Some stronger storms could pop up later on today across the Ohio Valley.  Not looking for a severe weather outbreak, but folks in these areas should keep an eye to the sky!

That’s the latest for now…hope you guys are all doing well.   If you’re up early, or can’t sleep, I’ll be doing weather for Fox and Friends First!   Thank goodness for our hair and makeup team here at Fox.   4am does not look good on me! LOL!

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi all!

Weather is remarkably quiet today after a crazy rain/snowstorm hit the northeast and record breaking temps for the West…

Let me know what you’re up to!

  • A wet weekend for the East...HOT in the West

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Hi everyone!

Happy Friday, first off!  I’m looking forward to starting my weekend with a nice long NAP!  I love doing the mornings on Thursday and Friday, but I must admit that without a nap, this weather lady would be pretty grumpy by 5pm!  LOL!

Taking a look at the weather maps,  a few things of note:

A storm system pushing across the Central U.S will bring the threat for strong to severe weather for parts of the Texas Gulf Coast:

The same storm will also bring scattered showers from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi Valley.  We saw a few inches of snow across Northern Wisconsin this morning.

This weekend this system will push across the East Coast bringing very heavy rain.  Some computer models are predicting as much as 6 inches by Tuesday:

This is good news for the drought, but bad news for folks who like to spend their weekends outside!

And HOT HOT HOT over parts of the Southwest – flirting with record highs for Phoenix!    Ice cream for everyone!

    Have a great weekend!
