    HAPPY EASTER! OPEN BLOG

    Hi everyone

    Wanted to post an open blog for you guys.  I’m off tomorrow and Monday. 

    I found this amazing picture and story which I thought was appropriate as we head into the Easter weekend:

    A German couple has gone to some lengths to celebrate the well-loved Christian holiday, decorating a tree in their garden with 10,000 painted Easter eggs.

    ­Volker Kraft has been collecting and painting Easter eggs for over 40 years. Starting with plastic eggs, he later switched to real ones. The 76-year-old has long made decorating a tree in the couple’s back yard a family tradition, the Associated Press reports.

    Every other Easter, the pensioner has added new eggs to his collection. His wife emptied the shells of their contents, while the rest of the family decorated the eggs with pastoral scenes and portraits of saints.

    Now that he’s reached the 10,000 mark, Kraft says the collection must not get any bigger – or he’ll literally be treading on eggshells.

    “There will be no more because I do not have storage capacity,” the he’s quoted by Associated Press as saying. “I would have to sleep with the eggs otherwise.”

    The family does not however intend to stop painting Easter eggs. Old eggs will be replaced by new, with some offered for sale.

Hi folks, just checking in to say hello so you don't see spam the first thing on the blog. It's a chilly, windy morning here but at least the sun is shining. Don, I'm jealous. I'd love to see hummingbirds this early. I'm sure they'll be around earlier than usual because of the weather, so I'll have to keep on eye out for them. I need to hang up my feeder. Hi Everyone, it sure is quiet on the blog today. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. It's a cloudy 53 degrees in Cumberland today. We did have bright sunshine this morning but the clouds have moved in. We're under a freeze warning for tonight. I hope it doesn't get that cold because I already have buds on my rose bushes and a freeze would definitely do them in. This weather is crazy that my roses are budding already. I hope they survive! Hi guys! Hope all had a great Easter. We started our day with church @ 8:30, then Sunday School. Afterwards hubby and I grilled at the lake for 20 family/friends. Beautiful day!! Could not have been more perfect! Hubby will be 65 on Wednesday, so had his b'day celebration as well. We are blessed! BG, YUM! Lemon pie sounds so good! That's one of hubby's favorites too. BTW--Choir was EXCELLENT yesterday! My heart was filled! Hope JD & her menfolk enjoyed the day. TTFN! Gwen :)

Hey Everyone. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a great Easter get together at my aunt's house and saw my brother & his family, as well as a few cousins. The beautiful sunny day turned cloudy in the middle of the afternoon but then started clearing up again in the evening. It's another beautiful sunny day today. I just wish the wind would stop blowing. It's been blowing for days now. I hope everyone has a great week! Margie

Hey,to all bloggers,Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.I was at my daughter's for a few days,Saturday was a sort of cold day ,rained almost all day.Sun came out late afternoon.Easter Sunday was a beautiful day.Sunny and about 65.The Easter Bunny did bring this Grandma an Easter basket.What fun finding all kinds of neat things. Great-Grandchildren were too much fun to watch,all in all a great time was had by all.Stay safe and have a good week.Dolores

Hi folks, I'm just checking in to say hello so you don't see a complaint the first thing on the blog. I hope everyone is having a great Easter/Passover weekend. Since the Jews are celebrating Passover at this time also, wishing a large diverse group of people a Happy Holiday would also include them, since it's not just Easter. So William, even though I am a Christian & I celebrate Easter, I wouldn't want to leave out the Jews who are celebrating a very important holiday to them. After all, Jesus was Jewish & He celebrated the Passover feast. Happy Holiday, whichever it may be! And to those who I know are Christian, have a blessed Easter! Margie

Hey folks, I hope everyone is having a great Thursday. Janice, that tree certainly has plenty of eggs! I'm surprised they all fit. We have a beautiful sunny day here. It's a little windy but the sunshine is beautiful. There are some wispy clouds in the sky. No rain in our forecast for the weekend, so that's nice. I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend. Margie
