  • Mother's Day

It’s Mothers Day on Sunday.   I still remember the day I found out I was pregnant with Matthew (and I wrote about it on this blog!)

Now I have two beautiful boys in my life that call me their “Mama”.  I can’t tell you how important and special the role of their mother is to me.  It has brought me joy that I cannot describe.  I still look at them and am in awe of their presence.

I never thought I would be a mom which some say they find surprising.  Career was the most important thing to me for many years.   It gave me my own self worth and acceptance.  Once I met my husband things changed, and I started to realize maybe there was a little more to life.    Yes, it was great to have a career, but there was something more out there for me to discover.  When we decided to try to have children, things shifted.  Priorities changed, and my life was focused on something different.  The day I got pregnant was the moment things became clear.  I was going to be someone’s mother.   This was going to be the biggest and best career move of my life.

Matthew and Theodore.   My loves.  They are the greatest gift I have ever been given.  I can’t imagine my life without their beautiful faces.  Yes, of course it’s a tough job raising kids – it’s always a challenge at every stage.  I consider myself one of the very fortunate to have a hands-on husband that is always present.   We are truly partners – not just husband and wife.  This is our job, and a privilege to be parents to these beautiful smart boys.

It’s also wonderful to see my mother with my kids.  I have a deeper appreciation of what she went through raising my brother and I.    My little ones give me the gift of being able to get closer to my Mom. I can step aside and watch them being read to, played with,   and loved by their grandmother.   Sometimes I get glimpses of myself as a young child doing the same things with her all those years ago.

My children are what keep me going.    They make all the silly stuff that I used to worry about trivial.   Seeing their smiling faces after I get home from work makes my heart full.   Watching them sleep peacefully at night snug, safe and warm gives me more satisfaction than a shelf full of awards or certificates.     Hugs and Kisses from them are all I need in encouragement, and hearing them say “I love you Mama” well, that’s the Gold Medal of motherhood right there.

It’s Mothers Day Sunday where we remember and celebrate our Moms.   But for me, it’s the most joyful day of my life – when I learned I was going to be a parent, and the blessings and rewards I get on a daily basis being near them.

To Matthew and Theodore.    Thank you for making me a better person, a better sister, a better daughter and a better wife.    I love you with all of my heart…and then some

unbelievably wonderful. and enjoyment. and hilarious when you pull a few charlie chaplin moves on your friends. thanks wind turbine *cue mental image of my unshowered, hungry, sleepless girl, mid-way from the third book while in the Twilight saga.. * It isn't really as brilliant as you may realise. I literally were required to pry your books outside of her kung-fu golf grip and force her to come to bed. *shudder* Right now i am wearing a good avon rare metal colour from a single of his or her 8 shade palettes. As well like a dark green rimmel shade within the crease. My eyeliner is from Avon along with my mascara is usually Maybelline XXL Expert. click here I agree, also once you have a popular band/bands that not a soul has ever heard of. Being inside your car so you play of which band plus everyone transforms and discusses you while using where do find this particular band' look!!! Amazingly AMAZING, also learning the name, artist, or album of a song, or somtimes many three Congrats Neil! You encourage me to achieve for this dream, a similar that you yours. I received your quote on the month for the exact time I wanted it, which encouraged me for a blog. I love the surfice pet dog video. Thank an individual. volcano vaporizer review

Where is everybody today? I couldn't let a day go by with no posts on the blog. We had a really soggy day here with over an inch of rain. My appt. with the medical oncologist was really long (actually it was the wait that was long--over 2 hours--yuck!) The good news is that what I have is actually pre-cancerous & low-grade. It is also hormone-receptor-positive, which means that the tamoxifen therapy should work really well. I meet with the radiation oncologist next Monday. Stay tuned. Margie

JD, Thanks for sharing your life and your family with us. It's a blessing to see the love you and Sean have for your boys. I really relate to how each little bundle of joy changes your life. First 2 were planned...Second 2 were totally unexpected. They've made my life richer by far than any career path I could have taken. It still brings joy to my heart to hear them say "I love you, Mama"...even though they're big, burly guys now. And I have the little grands that say "I luf you, Mamaw". :)

Janice, thank you for sharing your thoughts and your beautiful family with us. I've enjoyed the opportunity to see them grow. Being single, I can't relate to how it feels to be a mother, but I definitely know how tremendously proud you are of your beautiful boys. They are very blessed to have a mom who loves them so much. I'm glad I'm a part of your blogging family. I really do love you & I appreciate you so very much. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful family. God bless all of you. Margie

Can so relate to your story Janice. I was Mom & Dad to 4 kids. I use to pray that I lived to see all four on there own. They have all done very well and for some reason God keeps me going. Happy Monthers Day
