FOX News Weather Blog
  • Half way there!

    Hello everyone!

I know the blog has been quiet the last few days.  My son Theodore had to go in and get tubes put in his ears yesterday.  He’s had a lot of earaches and fluid in his ear for many months.  So much so that his doctor said it might be affecting his speech development, so we decided to have the procedure done.   He was a little trooper – and did very well.    It probably was harder on mom than it was for him.  Thank Goodness the nurses were there to bring me plenty of tissues and consoling words.  So far my little man is doing well after the procedure.  Hopefully he’ll start to talk a little more now that he can hear better!  Thanks to all of you who said some prayers and offered some kind words on twitter yesterday.

A reminder that if you’re up nice and early tomorrow, I’ll be on Fox and Friends First giving you the forecast!  Thursdays and Fridays are my early days.   I really enjoy doing it despite the early wakeup call!

In weather news, the tropics are quiet (for now)…we’ve got another wet unsettled day across the Northeast.  Some stronger storms could fire up across parts of the Northern and Southern Plains including large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

And across the West, it’s mainly dry, warm and breezy which is not good news for all of the wildfires that continue to burn.   We’re watching the weather near Fort Collins, Colorado where firefighters are trying to contain the High Park Fire.  Only 10 percent is contained, and over 46,000 acres are buring.   More than 1,000 personnel are involved in fighting the fire which is the third-largest in Colorado history.   Conditions remain dry and warm.  Winds won’t be a factor in the next few days, but over the weekend, they will start to kick in again.

And here’s a look at your temperatures today:

I’ll check in again tomorrow bright and early!  Have a great day everyone!

Dolores, I don't know why they took the link off the blogs list but I have the blog bookmarked so I never have trouble getting to it. There is a link to the blog on the weather page, too. Somebody had some time on their hands and messed around with the FNC home page. Hey to everyone else out there! We're having another beautiful sunny day here in Cumberland with a high in the low 80's. There are some clouds around but nothing major. Have a great afternoon/evening, all! Margie

Hi all !! JD that is great that Teddy is doing well. Just remember the next time Teddy said I cant here you he is not telling the truth. Ha ha We we had one heck of a storm in Dallas. We had rain 70moh winds at times and hail the size of a softball. I have never seen hail that big. All is well here it was a 30 min storm that scared the crap out of my dog. Hope all are well and safe. PJ

JD,hope your little guy is doing well.I know how hard it is to see a little one go though a tough procedure. My son,now 49,had to have a spinal tap for menegitis at age 9 mos. That was very scarey back then. All was well, after waiting almost 36 hrs for results.OK Thunder won the first game last night,How many watched? This such a big deal for our City and state. It will give us advertising you cannot buy.It is so exciting,And our weather is so,so.Warm and humid.81 yesterday, take care be safe.

You remind me of an old joke about the six year old who never spoke. One night at dinner he finally spoke. He said, the soup taste like crap. His parents were thrilled and asked him why all of a sudden he spoke. His answer was up to now everything has been fine.
