    Hi everyone

Hope you had a great weekend.  The weather here was spectacular…and we’re in for some changes later on this week!  Summer will officially arrive with temperatures in the 90s here in NYC!

For Father’s Day, we packed up the kids and went to the zoo after I made breakfast!  (It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself)  and then we all took long afternoon naps.  A perfect way to celebrate the weekend.

Just thinking about what a perfect weekend we had here with our families while folks in the Southwest are dealing with the terrors of wildfires.   It’s heartbreaking to see and hear how people are having to evacuate their homes and firefighters are working tirelessly day in and day out to protect what they can.  Unfortunately, weather is going to be a battle over the next few days for the brave men and women struggling to contain the spreading fire in Larimer Country.  It’s dry, hot and windy over the next few days:

And much of the West is under Red Flag warnings  meaning that conditions are favorable for the starting and spreading of wildfires:

Meantime, in terms of severe weather, the Upper Midwest and Northern Plains could get socked with some nasty storms later on today including hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

That’s about all for now.  I’ll post some pictures this week of the family that we took over the weekend!

And thanks for keeping this blog a mean-free zone.    You guys always keep it classy and kind.  I appreciate that more than I can put into words.

    JD

Hey everyone! It's hot here in Cumberland--90. I'm really feeling the heat today. AJ, I did see your post yesterday. You replied to my reply of Don's post. That's one reason why for the most part, I reply to posts on the main thread. When you start replying to replies, things tend to get lost! I want to thank Janice & everyone for your concern & your prayers. I really appreciate the support of my blogging family. You're a great bunch & I love you all! Stay cool, everyone! Margie

AJ, I am soooo envious of those temps. It was a very humid 91 here today. I'll try to not complain because we haven't gotten to 100 yet. I had no idea SoCal had such a cool climate. I always think of it as sunny and hot. We couldn't survive around here without a/c! Still, I look at TX and AZ and feel so sorry for those folks...and the one who are having fires now too. Margie, continued prayers for you as you continue treatments. Y'all have a good evening! Gwen :)

Hi guys! It was a great Father's Day yesterday. Great joy from church with all my bunch there. We take up an entire pew. I am way beyond blessed! Then lunch for the whole gang with homemade YooHoo ice cream. YUM! It was a really good day! Dolores, adding the blog web address to your Favorites is easy. After you have the blog pulled up, click on "Favorites" in the tool bar at the top of the screen...should be in the upper left. You can name it anything you want. Hope that helps! :)

Janice, we don't like meanness on this blog because we love you & we won't tolerate personal attacks. We're a loving, caring bunch! Hey to everyone else out there. Don, we're supposed to get into the mid 90's this week, too. What really stinks (literally!) is that with this radiation I'm getting, I can't use regular soap & a washcloth or put deodorant on the side that's getting the radiation. It's not the season for going without deodorant! All I can use is Dove. Oh well...Take care, all. Margie
