  • Watching the Tropics this weekend!

Happy Friday everyone!   Another weekend is just hours away, and if you live in the Northeast, some cooler air is heading our way just in time for the weekend!

However, as the cold front pushes into some warm, unstable air, strong to severe storms could kick up bringing heavy rain,  hail, strong winds and even isolated tornadoes.

Strong to severe storms will also spread across the Plains and Midwest.

The Northwest remains unsettled while the rest of the west will be warm, and dry.  The fire danger is high once again across the Great Basin through the Rockies.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on the Gulf of Mexico as a developing area of low pressure is expected to become a depression or tropical storm Debbie in the next few days.

And wanted to post a couple pictures of boys.  They’re growing up so quickly!   I know I’m biased, but this should qualify for a “CUTE BREAK!”  :)

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey Don, I'm glad you're safe. It's amazing how fast the temperature can drop during those storms. I checked out the radar before & it was a little deceptive because it didn't look that bad on the radar. There was no magenta color--just dark red. I'm glad you and Rolex are safe and sound. Be careful. We have a lovely breezy 78 degrees here today. It's delightful! Margie

Mornin', guys! Hope all are doing well this morning. Margie, I checked out your video on YouTube. It is so good! You really did a fantastic job...and so many interesting (and very pretty) items! Weatherwise, we had hoped for a little rain out of Debby, but she's taken a different path. PJ, we deal with heat and humidity here. Not quite as hot as TX, but oh so humid. TX is an awesome place, and I've enjoyed my visits there. Gotta go! Catch y'all later! Gwen :)

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm feeling tired today but don't have quite as much pain as I did on Friday. I can't remember if I mentioned that I joined together with a number of artists to open a new gallery in Cumberland. Unfortunately, I have to work there this afternoon even though I'm feeling tired. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I produced a 3-minute video tour of the gallery so if anyone wants to check it out, here's the URL: http://youtu.be/jmp4bqOsVO8 Margie

Margie, Rolex spends very little time in the heat. In this weather we walk in shade. Hummingbirds are not feeding in my feeders as they are in direct sunlight and the nectar is hot. Do you know why hummingbirds hum??? Because they don't know the lyrics.

BGinTX.

Janice, it sure is nice seeing your boys grow so fast. Thanks for the pics. Nothing new to talk about except hot and dry here in SMT. PJ, have you gotten used to this Texas heat? I've lived here all my life and I'm still not used to it. Margie,I thought Cumberland was a cool place to live, but apparently not this year. Hope all this remedies that your friends have suggested help. Stay cool everybody.BG.

Hi all. JD love the pictures of the boys!! They are growing so fast. Thanks for sharing. Well it is 90 heat index 95 going up to 97 then the 3 digits hit. YUK Oh well Texas Summers. ha ha Hope all have a great weekend. Margie try a cold cloth on the back of your neck and a spray bottle to mist your face to help ya with the heat. I see a lot of people doing that in TX and I can say it helps. Hope all stay safe and cool. PJ

Beautiful boys, JD! Should be an interesting weekend: Nickolas, Jr. is staying with Mamaw & Papaw all weekend. Katie and Carter are in the Meridian Performing Arts productions of "Stone Soup" and "Robin Hood" tomorrow. Katie is a chef in "Stone Soup" and Carter is Friar Tuck. He does a really terrific job singing "Come Together" (yes, the Beatles song). I know it sounds a little weird, but it should be great! Dolores, glad you got the blog set up in Favorites. Stay cool, guys! Gwen :)
