    Hello Summertime!

    Good morning everyone!

    The heat will be the big weather story today through the weekend with many cities breaking records.  Close to 2 dozen states are under heat advisories where temperatures combined with humidity will make it feel over 100 degrees. 

     

    A few showers and thunderstorms could break out across the Northern Tier of the country as well as south Florida. 

    And dry, hot windy weather will make it very difficult for firefighters battling ongoing wildfires.   In Colorado springs temperatures are going to remain in the 90s with breezy and dry conditions.  There is also the threat for dry thunderstorms which means moisture evaporates before it hits the ground, while strong winds and lightening could start or spread wildfire.

    The pictures out of Colorado Springs are gut wrenching.  My heart goes out to all those firefighters who are working tirelessly risking their own lives to protect lives and homes.  They truly are all heros.

    Hope you’re all staying cool!   I think we’ll have to break out the kiddy pool this weekend! :)

Was at the dog park by 6:00 am. Fox radio claims we will have a high of 105 today and "thats before you take in for the heat index" 103 tomorrow and 100 Sunday

It's going to be a wonderful day today. When I got up at 6:00 and checked the temperature, I had to look twice because my thermometer said 85. The low was only 75 at 2:00 am. I think it's going to be a hot day! Margie

Hi Cindy Lou. The blog has been up & running but for some reason the folks that do the web site took the link off the home page, which wasn't very smart. I have the blog bookmarked so I can always find it. I'm glad they put the link back up because it confused a lot of people not to have it there. Stay cool down there in NC! Hey to everyone else out there! I hope everyone is having a good week. It was hot today in Cumberland. I think we got up to 96 or 97. That's hot! Take care, everyone. Margie

Janice: Love reading your blog even tho' I don't comment very often..I was distressed to see it disappear from the FOX News page! Hope you are back to stay! 102º forecast for tomorrow here in the NC mountains...very unusual!

I would gladly take 5 or 6 degrees of heat along the coast here in WA. 68 was the high for our last 10 day forcast. My garden looks like crap. Not warm enough days and the nights cool off too much. That said, I empathize with all you fine folks who are suffering in the heat and storms. I lived for 7 years in an area that regularly exceeded 100 in the summers. Dry heat though so it wasn't too bad. One of my friends daughter just had to evacuate in Colorado. They lost everything!

Hi Janice and bloggers: J.D., I missed your blog for a few days. Glad to see it was up and running again today. Wow! The temps in our area (Chicago) are extremely high today. We have reached 100 degrees with a heat index of higher yet. Best we stay indoors with the A/C jacked up. I do feel sorry for those who are without A/C and hope they stay safe and comfortable. Texas is currently having historically high temperatures, even for Texas. However, I realized that I have not heard a word about global warming in years! I am curious and wonder what happened to the global warming groups?? Did the global warming group get a global warning from the Obama administration to put a lid on it or did we finally prove that global warming is a myth used only as a politically driven ploy by the dems? Oil & gas - all natural and American made!
