  • Heat continues this weekend...

Hi everyone!   Up early for Fox and Friends First today and Friday.  There will be a nap in my future since my neighborhood was popping fireworks until close to midnight.   A little tough when you have a 2:30 wake-up call!  Thank goodness my boys slept through the whole thing!

Extreme heat will once again be the lead story across much of the nation with temperatures surpassing 100 degrees in many big cities, and with the humidity factored in, it will feel anywhere from 105 to 118 degrees.

Power is still out for hundreds of thousands of people from Illinois through the Midatlantic so this is not welcome news, however there is some relief on the way as we head into next week as high pressure will begin to break down and it will feel much more “seasonal”. Thunderstorms could crop up across the Northern Plains through the Great Lakes and into the Ohio Valley.  The main threat will be large hail and damaging winds but there is the risk for isolated tornadoes.

And across the west, rain will be welcome news across the four corners states.  There is a risk for lightning and winds as well as flash flooding over the burn areas, but ultimately this is great news for moisture starved regions.

I had to work yesterday afternoon, but my boys had a great time in the backyard.  My husband sent me this picture which I thought I would share:

Thank Goodness for kiddie pools! :)

Have a great day everyone!  Keep cool!

    JD

The weather MAP at: .foxnews.com/weather/your-weather/index.html?locId=USCO0140 is stuck on New England (Northeast) and does not change when entering any zip code. I can no longer view Colorado. This problem started over 2 months ago and has not been repaired even though I have sent many emails and left telephone messages at FoxNews? Please repair. Thank you!

Hmmm...not too crazy about Wednesday holidays. It was back to work bright and early for me, too. We sat at the lake and watched the fireworks show from City of Meridian. They always put on a good one. We were far away, but still able to see and enjoy. Plus, it didn't start until after 9 PM, so it had cooled down alot from yesterday's 100. HOT! But still not record breaking around here. Would love to see some rain. Hope all are well and safe! Catch y'all later! Gwen :)
