FOX News Weather Blog

    Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend!  We are so thankful that the heat has broken for many of the areas that have been suffering over the last few weeks!  Unfortunately, for the folks in the West, the temperatures is going to warm up quite a bit in the days ahead while the eastern half will feel around or even below average highs over the next few days:

The boundary that separates the cooler, more refreshing air is sagging across the Midatlantic, so unfortunately there is the chance for more severe weather through the day today and overnight:

A lot of you sent some great pictures on twitter over the weekend.  Here’s a few of them:

Karen from Montrose, PA sent these two pictures as the storm was coming through her area:

Cara Vaughan sent this adorable picture of her son in the pool:

And B Hanney showed me what the dog was up to in the extreme heat (thankfully indoors! :)

My kids were also in the pool over the weekend — and we took many ice cream breaks!

Thanks for checking in everyone.  I always appreciate your comments and thoughts.  For the most part I think we keep this a pretty grumpy-free zone!  LOL!

    See you soon!

Hi J.D. and blogger friends: I'm back from my week-end in Atlanta. Had a wonderful time witnessing the marriage of my oldest grandchild, Carrie to a nice young man. Weather there was hot and pretty. Only obstacle was my son from Michigan decided to have a kidney stone happen just before the wedding rehearsal dinner. Needless to say he was miserable so my daughter-in-law took him to the E.R. He managed to attend the reception after being "drugged" to the fullest. He is doing much better. Thank you God. Our weather today is beautiful with temps in the low 80's. Much more comfortable than last week. Have a good day all. Audrey

Hey folks, we have a nice comfortable 82 today with low humidity. It's only supposed to get up to 84 so that will be nice. I love this cooler weather! I'm now a little over 2/3 of the way through my radiation treatments (10 more to go) & I'll be done July 24. I have to take tamoxifen for 5 yrs but at least they'll be done frying my skin. It actually hasn't been too bad so I'm grateful for that. They'll be upping the dose soon for the last batch so that won't be pleasant. Take care, all. Margie

It was 62 degrees when I got up this morning. That's downright cold! We're expecting a high of 84 today. Don, it sounds like you're a little soggy down there. Be careful if you have to go out anywhere. We could use some of that rain you're getting. I hope everyone has a great day. Margie

Janice, there was a guy named Ed who made a comment about one of Gwen's previous posts so he was one of the grumps. We all know that you know Gwen well and would never call her a grump! It's those people who just check in once and decide to leave ignorant comments even though they have no clue what they're talking about. People run their mouths too often without having a clue what's going on. Too many people have that problem! Margie

Thanks, JD & Margie. I knew the "grumpy" thing wasn't aimed at me. Some folks don't know me as well as y'all do, so they might mistake my off-hand remark as a complaint. I realize I am so blessed in this life, and I do thank God every day for my blessings. I was just taken a bit aback that anyone might for a moment think I was complaining about the 4th of July. Regardless, I still had 2 Mondays last week...and I thank God for both of them and that I was right here in the good ole USA! :)

Gwen, you don't have to explain anything to us. Your blogging friends know you and what you are really like. That was just a grump complaining about something they knew nothing about. Too bad there isn't a "grump filter" on this blog! People need to learn something from the dogs in the pictures above--chill out and relax! Margie

Hey, JD. Thanks for the weather update. We did get a few showers yesterday. Not as much as I would have liked to have had, but I did say "Thank You, Lord!" for what we did get. BTW, for those who don't know me very well, I was certainly not complaining about the 4th of July. As the daughter of a Vet, the wife of a Vet and the mother of a Vet...I do understand and appreciate our freedoms and the cost of protecting them...but I was still discombobulated by having 2 Mondays last week. :)

Hey Janice, we like having a grump-free blog, although sometimes they do sneak in! I'm loving this weather today. I'm back to work after taking a couple extra days off last week. I'm glad I was off those really hot days because the heat has been bothering me lately & I'm glad I could stay inside. I did a lot of napping, which I really needed. I'm actually feeling pretty good today so that's nice. I got a lovely note from someone very special on Saturday & that cheered me up. Take care. Margie
