  • THE LONG, HOT SUMMER...

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for keeping the blog alive while I was out last week.  I’m taking a few more days off here and there over the next two weeks for some family time, so blogging maybe sporadic.  One thing is for sure, the big stories remain the same:  heat and drought.  Both of these feed off each other, unfortunately, so until we get some much needed moisture across much of the U.S,  temperatures will continue to soar.

Here’s a look at where the worst of the heat is this week:

And the drought is still the worst we’ve seen in decades across the country:

As for severe weather, a couple of regions to be aware of some nasty storms today:  the Great Lakes, Mid South, and the Northeast Gulf Coast States:

Hope you’re all doing well!  I know it seems like it has been a long hot summer in a lot of spots, but I can’t believe August is here!  Fall is just around the corner…and even though hurricane season has been a little quiet over the last few weeks,  I’m expecting to see some action in the tropics very soon…so stay tuned!

Time for lunch!  My favorite time of the day!  Be well everyone!
