  • FRIDAY! WOOHOO!

    Good morning all!

Up early for Fox and Friends First today.  Both my little ones are sick so it was tough leaving them!  Summer colds are the worst.  Thankfully, the weekend is here so lots of non stop TLC!

In weather news, it’s been pretty quiet (relatively speaking)  The drought, however,  is still dire across many states, and in some cases is getting worse:

The good news is temperatures are finally starting to come down a bit, and we are getting a little moisture into some of these parched regions.

The Northwest has been dealing with extreme heat, and temperatures are going to start to come down a bit as we head in the weekend, however much of the West is still very warm and dry  – fueling the dozens of large wildfires that continue to burn across several states:

Meanwhile, a cold front parked across the Eastern Great Lakes back into the Central Plains will be the focus for some strong to severe storms through the day, so keep an eye to the sky and an ear to your local forecasts.

In other blog news, I see we have a few new people to the blog that seem to be getting off topic a bit.  I notice that a couple of these new people are actually the SAME person posting under different names.  I will continue to keep this area free of mean spirited discussions and or posts that are WAY off topic.

Hope you’re all doing well!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Mornin' guys! It's good to see that some of our OK and TX friends are getting the much-needed rain and cooler temps. We had rain also (about 3 1/4 inches Friday and Saturday). I try not to complain about rain, cause drought is just so devastating. Went on a Saturday road trip and stopped back by the Old Country Bakery run by the Mennonites at Brooksville. YUM! I'd weigh a ton if I lived near that place! Beautiful farms there too. Hope everyone has a great day! Catch y'all later! Gwen :)

Great, now we have the spam back. Hey to all the regular bloggers out there. I hope everyone has a great Sunday. I'm not feeling the greatest this morning so I didn't go to church. It's cloudy and dreary in Cumberland today. I'm not sure if the rain started but we do have a chance of rain. I guess if I wasn't so lazy, I could get up & look out a window to see if it's raining. Have a great day, everyone! Margie

PJ, we got our rain here this morning. Probably about an inch or more and it was needed greatly. We also snapped our string of consecutive days with a 100+ temperature. Hope all are having a great weekend. A quiet but peaceful blog right now is rather comforting! JB

Wow, a nice quiet, gentle day on the blog today--much better! We had some heavy rain this afternoon & it was pretty humid. I haven't been out for a while so I don't know about the humidity now. The temperature fell during the rain so it's much cooler than it was. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Margie

Hey Gwen, you did miss all the excitement yesterday! It was rather interesting. We seem to have a visitor with multiple personality disorder. In weather news, we are a little muggy today. It's only in the low 80's but it is more humid than it has been. I hope you don't have any problems with severe storms. It's nice to get much needed rain but the severe stuff you can do without. Hey to everyone else out there. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Margie

Hi, guys! Happy Friday! Pouring rain & t-storms in my hood again this morning. We had about an inch late yesterday & probably that much again so far this morning. Lots of thunder & lightning too. Would have been a great day to "sleep in". I see I missed the late day excitement on the other thread yesterday. Sure wish some folks would get a life and move elsewhere. Hate to hear your little ones are sick, JD. It's no fun when your babies hurt...even when they're 35! Catch y'all later! :)

Hi, Janice and the Weather Machine Gang! It's been very hot here in Socal, but it finally got cooler last night. I am lucky, because I live only two miles from the beach. It's always cooler here than inland -- or, as we used to say in my hometown, Chicago, it's always cooler by the lake! It's always nice to see Janice's blog, because you guys keep it so lively! I hope each of you is having a great summer! George Spink Los Angeles
