    Isaac weakens, but still a threat...

    Good morning everyone!

    This is the first chance I’ve really been able to sit down and update the blog!  I forget sometimes how busy it is covering a tropical storm/hurricane!   Hope all of you doing well.  Thankfully Isaac was not a stronger storm.  I don’t even want to think about what kind of damage a Cat 2 or 3 could’ve done to such a vulnerable area.  Still, it’s going to take a few days to really assess all of the areas that were affected by Isaac’s path.

    Right now, Isaac continues to crawl slowly through Louisiana  and into Arkansas tonight. 

    However, flooding rain, wind and a risk for tornadoes will threaten much of the central Gulf Coast states up into Arkansas.  

    Some areas have already received close to 20 inches of rain from Isaac, and an additional 2-6 inches could fall with isolated amounts of 10 inches.   

    Over the weekend, Isaac will continue to weaken, but bring heavy rain across parts of the Midwest and Ohio Valley which is ultimately good news for these areas that have been suffering from  extreme to exceptional drought.

Hi Everyone. I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures. It looks like the late weekend and early next week will be cooler. I stayed home from work today because my cold flared up again & I feel miserable. I think the 7 wks of radiation therapy weakened my immune system. I won't complain because things could be a lot worse. I think a nap may be in my future soon. I hope everyone has a great afternoon! Margie

Will Not watch any of the DNC,Bill Clinton,will probably talk about himself and how great his administration was. Wonder how much fact-checking will take place.Very humid here in Edmond,temp at 100 today.Next week they are predicting high 70's and RAIN.We can only hope and pray.Take care and stay safe out there,Dolores

Hi guys! Yum, Dolores, your feast sounded great. We had Walton get togethers with lots of food as well...both Sunday and Monday. Looks like OK and TX are still scorching hot! We are still pretty warm, but nothing like those temps. JD tweeted about comfy sweaters the other day. I admit that I too am looking forward to Fall. Don't have plans to watch any DNC coverage this week. Just can't do it! Hope all are having a great Monday/Tuesday. Mine is very busy! Catch y'all later! Gwen :)

Hey all bloggers.Had a very quite weekend.Went to Ponca City on Sunday for a birthday dinner.6 adult grand children and 5 greats.The baby is 10 momths and so cute.I had so much fun with the little ones.Dinner was great.Home made cherry,pecan and cream ice cream.Wonderful.brownies with chocolate icing and more food then people shouls be allowed to have.But of course there was 21 people.And the temp in Ponca was 109. Pool got a lot of use.I stayed inside.105 today in Edmond. Take care.

Hey Don, how's your weather down there in Richmond? Did you get any more rain? Somehow we managed to miss all the heavy stuff so far. The humidity is nasty, though. Hey AJ, the spammers certainly are annoying. I'm feeling better today so hopefully I'll be ok to go to work tomorrow. I'm still coughing a little but not nearly as much as before. It was terribly humid here today. I went to the grocery store in the early afternoon and I could hardly breathe. It was awful. Hopefully it won't be as bad tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great week! Hey Don, I'm glad you survived the rain. We only got about a tenth of an inch. Maybe the heavy rains will flood out the spammers' computers. Is that a bad thing to wish? It's cloudy and dreary looking here today but so far no rain. We'll see what lies ahead. Margie

Late yesterday afternoon we had 3" of rain. The airport which is 18 miles from me had 1.5" My daughter id 32 miles from me, she had 2.5" It's been raining here again for the past hour

I was hoping the spam infestation wouldn't make it to this thread but I see it has invaded us. I really feel sorry for people who seem to get a thrill out of such a useless pursuit. Hey Don. We've been getting some light rain today in Cumberland, although other areas have gotten heavier rain. It's really humid outside. The temperature is 74 with a heat index of 79. There was some really heavy rain around the region yesterday, which thankfully we missed. Downtown Berkeley Springs, WV was under a foot or two of water. We'll see what lies ahead in the next couple days. Hey to everyone else out there! Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend! Margie

Hi Folks, hot here again in San Marcos CA, unlike where other bloggers live in San Marcos Texas..they say our San Diego weather as we have always known it, has a new normal that will be more humid and warmer and it is sure showing it's ugly self..Margie hope by the end of the weekend you will feel so much stronger..still in shock that we are now in September, I just labored washing my car and now for a walk.AJ
