  • Spam no more...and the great pumpkin patch!

    Hi everyone!

So I know some of you have had trouble getting comments to go through on the blog the last couple of days.  There’s a reason for this.  We’re trying hard to alleviate the spam attacks on the blog, so after 3 days, you won’t be able to comment on an older blog post.  And anything with an Internet link won’t go though either.  So far this has been working well, but we’re just going to have to adjust with the new changes.  On my end, I will try to post every other day even if it’s just an open blog so that you guys can keep chatting…it will just have to jump to the most recent entry.

A quick weather update – I’m sure many of you have noticed a big temperature change over the weekend.   A pretty amazing cold front made a dive as far south as the Gulf Coast bringing with it record low temperatures overnight.  Even Dallas tied a record for overnight lows the night before last.  Many areas are rebounding this week, but it is a sign of things to come!

Meanwhile, an area of low pressure off the East Coast will keep temperatures cool and kind of dreary with the chance for showers for the coastal Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast.

The next cold front will move through the Great Lakes today spreading showers and even some light snow closer to the Canadian border.

And the West, for now, remains quiet but by the end of the week a pattern shift will bring a series of systems into the Pacific Northwest and cooler weather with storms into the Southwest.

In other fall news, we ventured out to a pumpkin patch over the weekend, and here’s a couple of pics of my youngest, Theodore having some fun!

Have a great day, and thanks for sticking with the blog despite the anoying waves of spam!

Awwww, Teddy is so cute! He looks like he's on a mission with those pumpkins. Hey to everyone out there. Hopefully we will have a spam-free blog. We just won't be able to share links with each other but I'll take that over the spam any day. It was a beautiful sunny and crisp day today with a high in the low 60's. It took a few days, but I've recovered from my colonoscopy ordeal. That was rough. Had an appt. with my oncologist yesterday & that was good. Have a great evening, everyone. Margie

Audrey from Indiana

Hi all: Sweet pictures of Teddy deciding which pumpkin he wants to take home! Such fun for children this time of the year. Wish your little boys could come to my front door for Trick or Treating, J.D. That would be special. Guess the "walk" would be a little much for them...all the way to Indiana (near Chicago). Weather today is beautiful, lots of Fall colors and cool temps. Guess we will take a ride this afternoon to "take it all in". Goodbye SPAM. Audrey

Gwen

Morning, guys! Lovely day in MySouth...mid 40s early and up to low 70s this afternoon. Cold in the camperhood. Got to unpack the Fall/Winter clothes. Don, I saw earlier this morning that a farmer had won a biggest pumpkin contest with an entry that weighed over 1700. Boy, you could make alot of pies out of that one! JD, Teddy looks like he's having a great time. That one pumpkin is as big as he is. Thanks for taking care of our spam problem, too. Y'all have a great day! Gwen :)

Cute pictures. Good luck with the spam problem. My daughter was at a farmers market oven the weekend. There was a 216 pound pumpkin. He was will to negotiate the .59/lb Wonder how one would move it.
