    Warmest Jan-September on record!

    Hi everyone!

    Some amazing (but not surprising) statistics were released yesterday stating that we’ve had the warmest period on average between the months of January through September ever recorded!

    Here’s a breakdown of the report, and it looks like 2012 is on track to become the HOTTEST calendar year on record! 

    Wow.  We’ll all be telling our grandchildren how we survived the hottest year ever recorded!  :)

    The drought certainly been affected by the extreme heat, and as a result, fall tourism events have been hindered this season.  There are less corn mazes across the Central U.S, apple numbers are down as well — even fall foliage isn’t as bright or plentiful like it is this time of year across many drought-stricken states.

    The good news is we do have some moisture moving into some of these areas that need a good drink of water over the next week.  The bad news is – we could have a severe weather outbreak across the Central U.S. this weekend.  I’ll have more details on that tomorrow, so check back in then.

    Also, if you’re up early and near a TV set tomorrow morning, I’ll be on Fox and Friends First bringing you the latest in travel weather, and whether or not you’ll need an umbrella or a puffy winter coat before you head out to work!

Hi, guys! I guess we were out of the ordinary this year, as our temps have been below normal...but still very warm. Margie, I hope your trip is filled with Fall colors. Rick Reichmuth showed a picture from Somerset, PA last weekend that was so pretty. Maybe one day I'll make it that far north. Only a couple more days and I'll be headed to NC. We're going to ride the Great Smokey MT Railroad, which we've never done before. It's a 5-hour round trip..I'm really looking forward to it! :)

I chatted with my step-brother-law about all of this. It's his job to gather data from Glacier Bay National Park (AK) on the effect of the climate on the glaciers. Interesting what he had to say. Land masses are significantly popping up as the glaciers melt away.

Well, it sure was the hottest in San Diego area in history and I am ready for cool temps and rain that are hopefully coming in tomorrow morning, would be happy to send the warmer weather east. Margie have a nice leaf looking day tomorrow, hope you get lots of pictures of colors.AJ

Hey Everyone. I hope there's some good fall foliage around because I'm taking a trip tomorrow to see what I can find. We have some color around here so hopefully the further north I go, the better the colors. We shall see. Gwen, I know your trip is coming up soon. I hope there's some great fall colors for you. Hi Janice and blogger friends: I am not surprised by your report on the hottest weather recorded in history. We did have some rather unusual months of great temps and weather, and only wish it would continue. But looks like winter may be on the way for most of us, especially in the Midwest. Today is beautiful with sunshine and cool temps. Fall is definitely in the air! Lots of pumpkins, but fewer apples because of the drought this year. We'll enjoy each new day as it comes. Audrey
