    OPEN BLOG, PA'S GRAND CANYON?

    Hey everyone!

    Happy Monday!  Pretty quiet day in weather.  The same cold front that brought severe weather this weekend to the Plains is now moving into the East Coast.  Heavy rain, winds and maybe some hail with an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out, but this won’t be a severe weather outbreak by any means.

    We also have some action on the tropics.  Rafael is going to head east of Bermuda, and could become a hurricane, but will quickly weaken as it moves towards Bermuda.  And we have Paul in the Pacific that has reached hurricane status, but will also weaken as it hugs the coast of Baja.

    Margie sent me this beautiful picture of Pennsylvania’s “Grand Canyon!”  I had to “google” it, and it’s the Pine Creek Gorge – commendly referred to as PA’s Grand Canyon.   It looks pretty amazing!  Thanks Margie!

Good morning all, another hot couple of days in what use to be wonderful San Diego, near 100, am beginning to believe in global warming and I don't like it..Margie your Grand Canyon picture was beautiful, lived there and never knew of that area, and this time of year it was beautiful..JD bet the boys are getting excited for the day they get to wear their costumes and gather goodies, have a nice day everyone. Hey Don, we have the exact opposite. It's cloudy, chilly and windy. At least it's not raining. It's supposed to clear up this afternoon so we'll see if that happens. When I went to the dentist a little earlier, I felt cold. I had the heat on in my car. We got a little rain yesterday but it was much warmer. We'll see if the sun does come out. Margie

Margie,great picture from that area.I am from Southern New York and remember how beautiful that part of New York is at this time of year.Iv'e been away since 1963,and only have made 5 visits in those years,still have one brother left from a family of 7 children.Ok does'nt have those kinds of colors in the whole state,and this yr being so dry,not so much.Lots of rain on Sat,and today is 80,cooler temps coming later in the week. Hope everyone is doing well,stay safe,Dolores.

Hey Janice, thanks for posting my photo! It was hard to pick just 1 photo because I got so many good ones. Hey to everyone else out there. I wish I could post a link to my web site because I posted a bunch of photos there last night. Northern PA is a beautiful area. The canyon is near Wellsboro, in north central PA, only about 20-30 mi. from the NY border. It's almost due south of Rochester, NY, for those of you who know where that is. If you love mountains, I highly recommend that area. Margie
