  • West coast worries

    Hello everyone.

Happy Friday.  Weather is pretty quiet for much of the country with exception to the West yet again.

A significant weather event continues across the region with rain, wind and heavy mountain snow.   Northern California and southern Oregon could see  rainfall totals of 10 to 20 inches by early next week. Strong winds of over 50 mph will batter the coast and heavy mountain snow will also impact the region.   And a nice little warm up is in store for the Plains this weekend.  Temperatures will soar 10-20 degrees above average through the weekend.

Another notable weather date:  today is officially the end of Hurricane Season.  A historic year courtesy of the devastating, deadly storm Sandy for the still recovering Northeast.

In a little lighter news, here are a couple of pictures of my boys with Santa.  Personally, as a kid I didn’t enjoy sitting on Santa’s knee, but my boys seemed to be ok.  Either that, or they are tremendously good actors!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Rain continues on the WA coast but the wind has calmed down. Electricity is out from Aberdeen to Westport (22 miles) due to downed trees across power lines. The storm should be getting into Southern OR and on into CA this evening.

Hey PJ, your post didn't show up until I posted my comment. I saw on the blog home page there were 7 comments but only 6 showed up on the thread--go figure! Thank you also for your prayers. I do appreciate that. Hey again to everyone else. I'm going to find some college football to watch. I don't know what I'll do with myself on Saturdays when college football is done. At least there will be plenty of bowl games to watch. Have a great day, everyone! Margie

I have a busy day ahead with cleaning and decorating for Christmas. Next weekend is my party/open house so I need to clean my house this weekend so I can start baking my famous Christmas cookies from other countries. They're always popular. Beautiful picture, JD! Such gorgeous little men! You and Sean did alright there. I only have one memory of visiting w/Santa many years ago. Just a fleeting memory...neither good nor bad. Pretty sure it was in Sears. My aunt worked in the catalog department for many years. I'm pretty sure I took my boys a couple of times, but nothing too memorable. Looking for a lovely (and warmer) day in MySouth. Back to mid 70s for a few days. Not very Christmasy! Catch y'all later. Gwen :)

Hey Janice! Your boys are just plain adorable! Thanks for sharing them with us. You have a beautiful family. I especially enjoy seeing pictures of little ones at this time when my mom's health has been quickly deteriorating. It's nice to see the vitality of the little ones. These pictures of your boys brightened up my morning. Thank you! Margie
