    A quiet forecast for now...

    Good morning all!

    Much of the country will be dry today with no major systems impacting the the U.S.   A weak storm system will push across the Upper Midwest and great lakes, but precipitation will be very light.   Temperatures have dropped dramatically across the Northeast in the wake of a cold front that moved through yesterday.  The West dries out from the train of storms that moved through this week, although the Northwest and Northern Rockies will still see be unsettled with some rain and a few inches of mountain snow.  We are going to see a pattern “shift” over the next several days as much colder air that has been bottled up over Canada will begin to spill into the Rockies, the Northern Plains and Midwest, and we could see the chance of some wintry weather impacting these regions as a result of  the changes.  I’m kind of wishing for a little bit of snow to get us into the Christmas spirit!

    That’s all for now!  I’m off tomorrow and Monday, but will try to post an open blog inbetween for all of you to keep the chat up!

Margie, I forgot to also say, sure sounds like those are going to be lucky folks to be tasting all your yummy cookies from around the world, do you have any Dutch ones? I know it will be successful and you will be very tired but content after, so tomorrow, recipe is for Margie to get lots of rest..AJ

Joni and Margie, I am keeping your folks in my prayers and want to say what wonderful daughters they have for all you have done. I hope your party goes well Margie and I wish we could all have some of those incredible sounding cookies you make. Very mild temps here for December Highs in the 70's and lows in the 40-50 range. Hope all have a great weekend. I guess I need to start my Christmas shopping before too long. Kind of hard to feel Christmassy when you have on shorts and have the top down.

Hey folks. Where is everybody? After checking in a few times I decided to say hello in case someone else checks in. It's cold & rainy here today. At least it's not snowing. If I remember correctly, I think I only had 1 year when my Christmas party/open house was postponed due to bad weather. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Margie

Hey, guys! I wrote a great comment on Monday to everyone, but then I couldn't post it. So I haven't had time again until now to make another comment. Joni, so sorry that you'll be missing one at Christmas. Holidays can be very sad times. It is warm here today...73 degrees. Should be cooler by the first of next week. I have a reunion/Christmas party on Saturday. I plan to wear my red Christmas sweater even if it does get to 75! Margie, have a great time at your dessert party! TTFN! :)

Hey Joni! It is hard to see our parents growing old. I can imagine it's even more tiring for you since you have to travel so far to visit your dad. I only live an hour & a half away from my parents. I'm enjoying my time with them, especially this holiday season, because I know it will be the last one at least with my mom. I'm not sure about my dad. I'll be keeping you in my prayers as you experience your first Christmas with your mom. Take care, Margie

Margie... thinking of you and your mom. Been out in Colorado with my sweet dad. Hard to get excited about Christmas without my mom this year. My dad's mobility is getting worse... ugh, so hard to see your parents getting old. And I am learning caretaking is one of the most tiring and hard jobs! Hello AJ!!!

Hey everyone. I had a busy day yesterday & didn't get a chance to post anything once Janice gave us another thread. I figured I'd chime in before things get busy again. It's cold here this morning--26. I had to put my heavy winter coat on. On Tuesday it got up to 69. This weather is crazy. I'm preparing for my big Christmas party/open house this weekend. I bake all kinds of cookies from other countries, which are always popular. It's a lot of work, though. BG, my mom isn't doing the greatest, but she’s hanging in there. At least she’s better from the respiratory infection she had a couple weeks ago. Thanks for your concern. Have a great day, everyone! Margie
