  • Severe storm moves out...

    Hi everyone.

Hope you’re all safe after a very nasty few days across the over half the country!

The storm system that brought over 600 reports of severe weather including close to 2 dozen tornadoes is now moving out of the Northeast.

Wind gusts of up to  50 mph are possible from the Midatlantic to the Northeast.

Behind this storm system, temperatures will drop in some cases 30 degrees in less than 12 hours.

Windchill advisories are up for parts of the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest where it will feel 20-50 degrees below zero at times.

And snow behind the storm will pile up across the Great Lakes with over a foot possible through Saturday.

Much of the west will be quiet with cooler temperatures for many with exception to parts of the southwest.  Some snow and rain showers for the Northern Rockies as well and the Northwest Coast.

So that’s what’s happening for now.  My youngest son Theodore has the flu, so we’ve been juggling work with taking care of him.  Hard to be away from your kids when they are not feeling well.  Thankfully, he seems to be on the mend this morning.

I’ll post an open blog tomorrow for the weekend.

    Take care everyone.

Janice, I hope Teddy is feeling better. I never understand why people complain about what you post on your blog. If they want their local weather, they should check local weather sources! They certainly shouldn't be relying on a blog! Margie

Hope Teddy gets better soon and no one else in your family gets the flu. Was in the 70's yesterday, 44 now and suppose to snow tomorrow. There are a few trees down from last nights storm. Again I'm glad our power is underground. Understand there are a few thousand still without power.

Hey folks, we've had some crazy weather here. The temperature dropped 20 degrees in less than 8 hours & the wind is blowing like crazy--46 mph high wind gust so far. There was snow on my car this morning after some snow showers earlier. What a crazy time! I hope everyone is safe and warm. Joni, I hope the flooding wasn't too bad for you. Let us know how you're doing. Take care, everyone! Margie
