  • Prayers for Boston

    Hi everyone…

The tragic events in Boston are top of mind for all Americans today.  The stories about the little ones that were harmed or killed yesterday are the ones that haunt me.  I hugged my boys again tightly last night and prayed that they never have to go through such devastation in their lifetimes.  We do the best we can to protect our children but sometimes horrific events take the lives of innocent victims.  The only thing I can come up with is God needed more little angels in heaven yesterday.

Seeing random acts of kindness has helped.  The brave firefighters, policemen and women, EMT workers that run towards the danger to save others.  The runners who crossed the finish line and kept going until they got to a hospital to give blood.  Strangers taking off clothes to help bandage up injured.  Boston residents who have opened up their homes to let people rest or sleep while they wait to hear from loved ones.  Hospital staff who have been up all night to take of the sick and injured.

And it all began on a beautiful spring day in one of our country’s most beloved cities.  The sky was blue, the air was crisp.  A day to celebrate in Boston.  Patriots Day.  One of the biggest and best Marathons in the world where families gather to cheer on their families and friends.   A little boy was waiting for his Daddy to cross the finish line yesterday afternoon.   I’m sure he couldn’t wait to see his father’s face in the crowd…just like my precious boys run to the door when their dad comes home from work.  It breaks my heart when I think of the bombs going off.  That little boy waiting to give his dad a hug.  He never had a chance.   His face haunts my thoughts today.  I pray for his family.  I pray for our country.  I pray for our children.  I pray for peace.  I pray for Boston.

All the news about Boston has been so sad. I was watching the news while I was in the hospital. Just got home a little while ago--it's nice to be home! I have a friend who lives in Concord, MA & she & her husband are runners. I was so glad to hear from her that they are all safe. Her husband had just crossed the finish line when the first bomb went off & one of her brothers & his family were between the locations but they were safe. Praying for all those in Boston & in TX. Take care, all. Margie

Just looking at the logic here: God allows 3 people to die (one of which was only 8-years-old and around 100 people to be injured (many who will be permanently deformed). You're admitting that God didn't stop any of that, but now you are saying to him "Hey, wanna maybe lend us a hand here now? We'll forget that you let an 8-year-old boy die and a number of people become amputees for the rest of their lives, you didn't help then, but we're going to pray and see if you care now." Pray for Boston?

Didn't realize pressure cookers are still for sale. As a kid I remember my mom used a pressure cooker and my dad cleaning pea soup off the ceiling when it blew.

How much does one family have to suffer? Not only did the eight year old die, his sister lost a leg and his mom had brain surgery.

Don't people move here to be SAFE from terrorism? I cry every time I read about attacks. I don't know what brings out the real dirty devil. MY Grammy used to say, "Everyone has a devil who does things that smash plates and throw fits, but only some have a really dirty devil. Everyone has an Angel. Everyone on God's green Earth is an Angel, but some will plunge to Hell." And if you think about it, that's true. And I just want to say, Please swear on Jesus's cross you won't be a real dirty devil.

Like Julia Amen JD Amen, and I have been wondering how humans can be so evil as to want to harm all of us, including the most innocent and youngest among us and yet like JD said also so much good and angels among us helping the walking wounded...it was like experiencing 911 all over again...God Bless them all and also Margie today that all will go good in her surgery..AJ

Countries all over the world seem to like ours to allow that we as people are not heard enough - Yes, to us we are heard more than anyone else there are however(s) though. Why allow our governments as much of you will "free will" and yet not ourselves? And? Doesn't this behavior depict what we call 3rd world attitudes? When is it responsible of us to not have a say so in response to quote"our country?" The suspicion that we are to dependent on governments that are free radical is valid to me.
