  • Historic Snow and Wildfires in California

    Hi everyone!

Happy weekend to you all.  Another busy one in the weather department.  We had an amazing week in terms of meteorological “firsts” with the May snow!  The totals are incredible.  Arkansas has never seen snow in the month of May, and now thanks to this week’s incredible snow,  and cold temperatures history was made:

The cold front that brought this crazy snow is moving eastward, and bringing some very heavy rain.  Some of these areas are already saturated by weeks of on and off rain across the Mississippi River Valley.

Meanwhile, that wildfire that exploded yesterday across Southern California is still going strong.  However, firefighters are going to get a helping hand from Mother Nature in the days ahead with higher humidity and lower temperatures for the region:

And unfortunately, a wet forecast is in store for the 139th Kentucky Derby.  Sloppy, muddy conditions will be likely during the race and temperatures are chilly..there’s always the mint juleps.

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Hi folks. I think people lose interest in the blog when so much time goes by when you can't post anything for days. Some folks don't check in every day and when they do, they can't post anything if the thread has expired. I started my own blog so I could share my photos. I can't post the link since my post will probably get sucked into the spam filter, but we'll see how e-mail works. If you want info on my blog e-mail me at mghealthtalk at gmail dot com and I'll send you the link. (Make sure you substitute the symbols where I have at and dot.) Margie

JB in Texas

PJ is correct about the weather here today. Played in the park with my grandson and it was very pleasant. Not too hot and not chilly either. Kind of quiet on the blog here lately. Hope all the regulars(sounds funny with little action) are doing well. Take care, JB
