  • Andrea brings record rain, more severe storms and record heat!

    Hello everyone!

Hope you’re having a great weekend so far.   It’s been a busy last few weeks in weather with the tornadoes, and now our first official tropical storm of the Hurricane Season!   We had major flooding in our area of Long Island yesterday.  Thankfully the rain has stopped, but not after setting some pretty impressive records from Florida all the way up to Maine!

The worst of Tropical Storm  Andrea’s rain has cleared the Northeast as the post-tropical system races out into the Atlantic.   The rest of the tropics look quiet through at least next week.   Phew!

Unfortunately, strong storms will again develop today across the Central Plains from the Texas Panhandle through western Oklahoma and into portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.  Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats, however isolated tornadoes are possible…including areas that were hit by devastating tornadoes last month.

Flash-flooding will also be a concern across southeastern South Dakota, southwestern Minnesota and northwest Iowa.

And summer has arrived across the Southwest this weekend.  After several record highs across the Desert Southwest and central valleys of California yesterday, more records will likely be broken today.

Excessive Heat Warnings remain posted through Sunday evening.

Have a great day everyone!  Be safe.

Mornin' guys! Hope all are well. I'll see if I can push that spam a little further down, too. Had a great weekend. Our worship service yesterday morning was a youth choir (7-12 grades) from Mesquite, TX. They were so good! I've been humming some of their songs ever since. Sunday lunch with all the kids and g-kids...lots of work, but so much fun! Ready for a few days of sunny weather. We've had alot of rain. I'm not complaining...I don't like drought either. Have a wonderful day! :)

Hey folks, just wanted to post something so you don't see the stupid spam the first thing on the blog. Hopefully we'll get de-spammed soon. Hey Audrey and Sam. Hope you both had a great weekend. I'm glad there are some regular bloggers here besides the stupid spammers. It's humid and rainy here. I planted some flowers yesterday so they'll get a good rain today. Hope everyone has a great week! Margie

Janice, you looked lovely in your blue outfit. That's a pretty good color for you. After all my griping about the rain..it stopped! Now I need rain to keep the garden moist. If everything grows that I planted, I'll have to thin about half of it out. Have a good weekend everyone. Sam

Hi Janice: You are one busy gal with keeping track of all the weather patterns across our nation. It hardly seems like it is hurricane season already. We keep close track of the hurricanes since we have some condos in Florida, and of course are looking out for their safety. Hope all the rain you have had in the Northeast has subsided so you can enjoy the rest of the week-end. Hug those little boys for us and stay safe in whatever you have planned. Audrey
