  • Feels like Summertime!

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for being patient with the blog while I was gone.  I’m glad that the “Open Blogs” worked last week and you could all chat…

We had a great time in Toronto for my brother Craig’s wedding.  I’ll post a few pictures (once I get my brother’s permission to do so!)  Matthew and Theodore had a great time, and looked adorable in their little matching outfits (if I do say so myself!)

And after a very long winter, and in some cases a cool/wet springtime, it’s starting to feel like summertime!  We’ve got heat advisories up for the Northeast where the humidity is going to make it feel very uncomfortable this weekend:

We’ve had a blocking pattern across the Eastern U.S that has not only brought us our heatwave, but incredible rainfall over areas that don’t need anymore wet weather!

Flood Watches and Warnings remain posted across the Southeast, where 10-20” of rain has fallen this week along the Southeast Gulf Coast.  An additional 2-5” is possible this weekend from the Florida Panhandle to the Ohio Valley.

Meanwhile, a few strong to severe storms are expected across the Northern Plains today as a system from Canada slides into the region.  Large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado are possible.

So that’s what’s happening in weather.  I’ve got another exciting project I’m working on in the next few weeks I’ll share with you on Monday!  I’m learning how to be a “stand-up comedian!”  How fun is that?   I’ll let you know why next week!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Dan, I am sending prayers to your sister. May she find strength in knowing there are many of us here praying and keeping good thoughts. JB

Hi all, will give it another shot on here. It is overcast here but should burn off in a couple hours. I had to break down and water the yard yesterday. Will do the garden today. Dan, most of us on the blog have prayers available and are not stingy with them!

I know that I'm fairly new to Janice's blog family, but already feel like I know WaSam, Audrey, Margie and all the regulars. My 4th of July was very bittersweet. After planning retirement for 20+ years with my dear sister, I relocated to Northern California last November. Six weeks ago she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (no cure.) She's undergoing extreme chemo to lessen the pain, shrink the tumors and hopefully extend her life for a few months. Please, can I ask for your prayers? Dan

Happy late 4th to everyone! Just got back from camping. Was off work Thursday and Friday for a nice, long holiday weekend. No wifi at the campgrounds, so I don't get to check in when I'm there. We had a great time. First time I ever remember it being in the low 80s on the 4th of July in Mississippi. We had about 3 inches of rain yesterday, but it didn't bother us. We just dealt with it the best we could. Hope all had a wonderful 4th as well. Have a great rest of the weekend. :)
