  • Hello Chantal!

    Hi everyone!

Well, we have a tropical storm to talk about today that will probably be with us until or perhaps past the weekend!  The good news is it is moving very fast which means it’s going to have a hard time to strengthen due to its speed.  However, its path is going to move a little too close for comfort to the U.S,  so we will certainly have to watch it.

Right now winds are sustained at 45mph.  There are tropical storm warnings up for Barbados, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe.

On the projected path, Chantal is expected to affect portions of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba:

And here are the computer models that show a wide area of uncertainty as we go 5 days out:

Meanwhile, across the country, scattered thunderstorms are likely for the Northeast.  The heat has subsided in the region with “relatively” cooler temperatures through the week.

Strong to severe storms could pop today from the Rockies, the Northern Plains through the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley (including large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes):

That’s the latest in weather.  I have a couple of pictures from my brother’s wedding I will post shortly, and more details on the other skill I’ve been working on over the last few weeks to be debuted on July 21st here in NYC!  Stay tuned!

Hey folks, just wanted to post something before this thread expires. It's hard to believe it's been 1 month since my dad died. It seems like just yesterday. My mom is having a good wk. She's in good spirits & I'm glad about that. My dad got involved in clock making after he retired & I found a few wall clocks he had started. The wood & clock faces are finished & I ordered some movements & hands. Can't wait to finsish them! I hope everyone has a great day wherever you are! Take care, all. Margie

Weather update from CT:I remmeber when tornados were r.a.r.e. in CT. Very r.a.r.e. Now they are common place. And those 100 year events? Not so every hundred years. We have had 3 or 4 in the past 2 or 3 years. Something is going on with Mother Nature. And not in a good way. My Alaskan step-sister and her husband have been warning the family about this. And they werent kidding. Everything they have said, is happening...Scary

Hey folks, where is everybody? It's been quiet on the blog. I figured I'd stop by to say hello to whoever is out there. Hope everyone is having a good week. It's been a rainy week in my area. I heard some thunder earlier but now the sun is shining. We've gotten almost a half inch of rain so far today. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the week. Take care, all. Margie

Hi Janice: Hope you and your family had a nice time at your brother's wedding. Family is so important and an occasion like this really brings all of you together. We will be watching Chantal. Had a nice rain this afternoon, and now the sun is shining! Give our regards to Megyn Kelly for the nice job she has done on America Live. She will be missed but know she is excited about adding to their family and having a new show in the Fall. Have a nice evening everyone. Audrey
